Which poison is better for combat?

Post » Mon Jul 15, 2013 6:03 am

Im torn whether to mass produce either damage health/paralysis (Deathbell + Canis Root + Imp Stool) or damage health/slow/weakness to poison (Deathbell + Bleeding Crown + River Betty/Chaurus Eggs). The former is more reproducible and might even be better, but the latter will compound the poison damage with each hit.

Paralysis no question then get your hits in, damage health never equates to the hits you can deliver.

I am a svcker for slow poisons as they really can affect those two-handed wielders that can kill a light armored person in one blow. You can see their speed is damaged and much more easy to control the battle. Paralyze for me feels a bit overpowering, but needs to be in your inventory. So both poisons you described really, but more dam health/slow/weakness to poison. Its a intelligently combined poison and its also more fun to use

Lingering Damage Health does 5x as much damage as Damage Health, but it takes 10 seconds instead of being instant. For example, at 50 Alchemy, no perks:

Imp Stool + Mora Tapinella: 5 damage per second for 10 seconds (50 total)

Imp Stool + Nightshade: 10 damage

For the second potion, Deathbell instead of Nightshade makes it 15, and River Betty makes it 25, so that closes the gap a bit. Obviously, adding Canis Root makes them both paralyze.

I don't think it's possible to make a Lingering Damage Health + Slow poison, though.

That's a waste...Crimson Nirnroot + any other Damage Health ingredient does more damage than Crimson Nirnroot + River Betty. It looks like a bug where River Betty is overwriting Crimson Nirnroot, even though it shouldn't. Try it.

I like to use canis root+imp stool+orange dartwing. It usually takes one hit, depending on your alchemy of course. I love running up to them and hitting them, then watching them slowly die at my feet. And it is also more than satisfying to use a high levelled frenzy on a group if bandits and watching them turn on each other.

Weakness to Fire + Fire enchanted weapon.

Oh, sorry.

Anything with paralysis, as this gives you time to either back away or finish the job.

Stacking poisons is okay, but they're also tediously slow, especially at high levels.
