Which PS3 are you playing on?

I have the slim 120 GB, and I haven't had nearly as bad of problems with it as alot of people here.

Except for now. I decided to store some things aboard the mothership, and guess what? The hallway room between the bridge and the portal to the wasteland is so laggy that my game crashes everytime I turn from the portal towards that room. WTF?!?!?!?!?! EVERYTHING was in there.....

Okay I figured it out. I faced my character away so I wasn't facing the source of the lad, which was on the left side of the room. After passing through the door, I started turning left gradually, so as to keep the source of the lag out of my site. It was successful.

I grabbed EVERTYHING, and slowly but surely made my way BACKWARDS through the whole process again. saved me hours lost by reverting to an older save.

I play on 250gb ps3 slim but not much due to all the problems I had on my previous 40gb ps3(that caught the ylod) I have barely touch now instead I spend most of my gameplay time on fallout 1/2 classics.

My new PS# slim 120gb is awesome. the only game that had crashed it or given me any problems is FO3.

You should play a couple of the PS3 exclusive games, they're pretty good.

That whole process I mentioned all in all took about 20 minutes. and that was just walking back through the Mothership.

I carried 1500 lbs of equipment from the Alien Homing beacon, to Greener Pastures Disposal site. It was grueling, but I made it, after a half hour and almost becoming a Giant Albino Rad Scorpion's lunch.

250GB Slim and the game drove me nuts and had to stop playing after first playthrough couldnt even complete the DLC. I dont think it has anything to do with PS3 model.

No, but I have alot less problems with mine.

I guess I just power through the lag and crashes.

If you love a game enough I guess you just deal with the circumstances.

I played Morrowind GOTY on xbox only, I don't know if anybody here did this, but it lagged and crashed alot.

But like I said,

"When you love a game enough......"

If FO:NV is anything like FO3, (Which of course it will be) I'm sure there will be some minor glitches and what-not. And I'll still be happy.

But what do you expect with such a large game world with so many NPC's and items strewn about? Everytime you move something, it had to record where you moved it to. Pretty much whenever you change ANYTHING in a game like this, it must record it. And thats why your save files get bigger and bigger with each save.

And, I think, for playstation 3 versions of the game (At least from my experiences with FO3 and Oblivion) with file size comes more bugs and crashes. FO more than OB though. I can start off fresh in FO3 and play for hours without having more than one small glitch, or maybe a crash. I found at later levels, and with more complete in the game world (Also with almost 14 MB of file size), there are ALOT more crashes and minor bugs.

For me (and maybe only for me), I expect a certain amount of hardships with glitches in Bethesda RPG's. Like I said before, I played Morrowind GOTY on Xbox only. XBOX ONLY!!! Somebody has to have went through that as well. But I've beaten it (and when I say " I Beat it", I mean EVERTHING that I could possible do is done) over ten times.

You have to love the game to still play after crashing four times in just a few hours.

I guess my point to all this is, I Love Bethesda RPG's, and a few bugs or crashes would never keep me from playing. I can honestly say that, I've never played a video game as much as the awesome games Bethesda puts out.

I have a 120GB PS3 Slim and so far (I've only played it for a couple of hours) I've only had a few moments of minor lag.

That is exactly what I got.

I have a launch 60GB PS3 "phat", which has since been swapped with a 320GB HD. I used to run Yellow Dog Linux, but it has since been wiped by one of the updates... =/

As for the FO3 performance, I have the collector's editon version of the game loaded (not the GOTY), plus all 5 of the DLCs from PSN which were loaded as they became available.

I've put in around 350+ hours playing various characters, about 200 hours pre DLC and 150+ hours post DLC.

I didn't get hit with any serious lag until the final quests of the main game w/ Liberty Prime and Broken Steel w/ the attack on the mobile crawler where the action gets pretty thick and hairy.

There were a handful of notable and annoying freezes and crashes, but nothing so annoying that I wanted to quit the game or hurl my system out of the window.

Admittedly the game crashed for me the most when I was trying to do the shopkeeper glitch where you have one fully repaired weapon such as a laser pistol and one completely damaged laser pistol, and a glitch automatically swaps most expensive pistol in your inventory even though you just bought the cheapest one.

my save file is 12mb and im on the 40 gb ps3, its not too bad with minor lag issues, but on my old save file the problem was before the dlc came out for ps3 my character was lvl 20 and after i got all the dlc and completed them it was 17mb lol broken steel was nearly rendered unplayable, pointlook out and the pitt were nearly as bad and mothership zeta was not just laggy but the worst dlc of all but as you said if you love a game then you continue through the bugs and lag which i have, done every quest ,found all locations and bobbleheads. :)
