Which Quest Line will you start first?

In Oblivion i first started with the Dark Brotherhood, because you might have to kill any of the 3 main guilds and then i work my way up

Thieves Guild. Only for reasons of practicality, given that Thieves Guild quests usually don't require any high level combat.

I'll probably roam around without a goal in Skyrim for the first 20 hours or so, get to know the cities etc.

Do the first one or two tasks of the main quest and then get sidetracked by all the great stuff there is to do and see that by the time I remember to continue the main quest, I'll be archmage, Listener and Gray Fox (or whatever the Skyrim equivalents are).

I always start with the guilds so I can get to a higher level before beginning the main quest.

The way I see it, the Main Quest is usually designed to lead you though this anyway. It takes you through all the cities and regions, gets you familiar with the controls and the game play elements, etc.

I'm the explorer type, but if there's a dragon slaying guild, i will be there. As if not, probably the "dark brother hood guild" then.

The main quest out of curiosity, to see how good it is.

I will do random quests for different people as I explore some of the cities/environments, then once I get the feel for everything I will start with the MQ.

Dark brotherhood, can't wait hehe

How do you guys know what guilds there are and what names they have.
I've read the novel I know of the College of Whispers and the other one whos name I forgot.
But there is a time gap between the book and the game of about 150 years or so.
Personally I hope there is no Dark Brotherhood. They were to generically evil.
They should be Assassins for hire, not sociopaths for hire.

Find the Synode and College of Whispers, see who is the least obnoxious or arrogant, and make myself useful.

It's a video game, and the dark brotherhood guild was my favorite in oblivion because i loved to assassinate people in oblivion. Idk why people make such a big deal about killing in video games, it holds no influence towards me, isn't like im going to grab a deadric claymore and whack random people in a wal-mart or something because i killed everyone in Bravil...

I typically start with dungeon exploration to get good gear and beef up those skills. Then I do a few of the MQ quests, after which comes a few quests of the Mage's Guild. Then I do both at once, iterating between them. Usually, the Mage's Guild questline ends sooner for me than the MQ. At which point I join the Fighter's Guild.

Well they have already confirmed that The Dark Brotherhood is returning, but that is it, people are just speculating about the others. You can probably assume that there is going to be some sort of Thieves Guild, Mages Guild, & Fighters Guild. but nothing has been confirmed yet as they said they wanted to wait before talking more about the guilds, probably at E3 :).

And for those that don't know, the Mages Guild fell apart and now there is the College of Whispers & the Synod that formed afterwards, so maybe one of them will take its place in Skyrim.

As long as the MQ isn't like OBs that once triggered everything gets [censored]ed up. :)

Fresh from release it would be tricky to initiate some of the obscure quest lines without a guide (thieves guild and Dark Brotherhood comes to mind). Going in walkthrough free so I'll go however the natural course of events unfolds. Otherwise I'd love to go Daedric Shrine hunting.
