Which Race should be a VampireWerewolf

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 1:14 pm

Going by what build that Race really should be. For example. An Orc is obviously a warrior, meaning that a were wolf is a better choice. But what about the other ones?

Here's mine:

Argonian- ?? Vampire maybe-Vampire=better sneak and illusion=more equipped thief=Argonian?
Breton-Vampire
Dark Elf- Vampire
Altmer- Vampire
Khajiit- Vampire
Nord-Werewolf
Red Guard- Werewolf
Wood Elf- Vampire
Imperial- Were Wolf
Orc- Werewolf

thoughts?

.......

doesn't matter.

What if your Orc is a necromancer summoner? Vampire would suddenly be very appealing (with taking the Resto undead perk)

You're overthinking it. Just play the game and let your character be your character, not a template.

Neither are bound to race, all provinces have their own kinds of Vampires, most also have some kind of werebeast. There is no reason why a redguard should be more suited to be a vampire then an Argonian or vice-versa. Even Lore wise there is no evidence of it...

Most were-beasts however do seem to concentrate to the north (Skyrim, High Rock, etc.) so it might be more likely for a Nord to be a werewolf if you look at it Tamriel wide, however everybody in Skyrim runs equal risk.

^Yah, has more to do with what's more appropriate for your class/playstyle than your race.

Your ethnicity doesn't matter... you're IN skyrim, and thus a nationalist of Skyrim... no matter your heritage.

They aren't hereditary diseases but contracted.

Race has little to do with it. Any race can be anything and be very effective. Having said that, there are a couple of races that IMO make excellent Vamps.

Dunmer - Because of their 50% resistance to fire
Imperial - IMO make the best Vamps for early level. Especially if one intends on playing as a Stage 4 all the time. In which case the Voice of the Emeprior power is very useful.

However...I think that Nords are the least attractive choice for Vamps, due to their Racial bonus of being 100% resistant to frost.

Werewolves? I can't really comment much on. They just don't seem to be all that, as far as I'm concerned. I tried it once and couldn't get cured fast enough.

Personally it seems silly to go vampire on any other race then human. Maybe I'm a traditionalist after reading too many Anne Rice books but it just seems utterly moronic to run around as a vampire cat/lizard/elf.

Bosmer should be werewolves; it really works nicely with their lore.

You've read to many books. Non human vampires happen quite a lot in the world of TES.

I'm aware. Still seems silly and out-of-place to me. Werewolfs are a different story. I have little to no interest in their lore inside and outside of TES so they could apply to any race.

Applying other Lore often doesn't really work for TES... Still doesn't really matter, we all have our RPing difficulties, at least I sure as hell have a few.

I thought Arigonians are resistant to diseases how can they become vampires? Just like after you are a werewolf you cna nol onger get the vampire curse.

The form itself is actually not that useful I find.

Disease resistance it comes with is nice though... and it has no downsides other than no sleep bonus which is so glitched in Skyrim anyways it doesn't work for me even on characters that never even touched the questline.

^ This

But flavor-wise, I would see each race leaning more towards these:

Argonian: Vampire
Breton: Vampire
Dunmer: Vampire
Altmer: Vampire
Khajiit: Werewolf
Nord: Werewolf
Redguard: Werewolf
Bosmer: Werewolf
Imperial: Vampire
Orsimer: Werewolf
