Which race will you choose to play?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 5:21 pm

Dude, people say that because it's done to death. Forums get stale if you're just discussing the same thing over and over again.

OT:
Either RG or Nord depends on the character designs.

well it will always piss me off anyway, its a level of arrogance that i can't understand, well whatever, nords are a cool race, but im going with the argonian, if they look to ugly im going to be forced to chose another race to begin with :foodndrink:

I feel kind of lame picking Nord because its going to be the mainstream race but I always have been so...

She'll be a Breton Mage who knows how to fight with a sword too.

So it'll be sword in one hand and either a spell or a staff of shock or fire in the other.

In the end, it'll depend on the skills and traits and if they've changed. Maybe she'll be a Nord...we'll see. :)

Which of these races will you choose to play as your first character, and why?

A Mighty mage amongst the Altmer. If there be a post for archmage in Skyrim, this High Elf shall hold it. . . if not. . . He shall make the post for himself! lol

Ill be making a Nord that wears the same helmet as the guy in the trailer. He has a small (mayby big) beard. He wears fur armor, a sword and a shield and knows a bit about restoring magic.

Hypothetically, Khajiit, but only until a TES5 update of my old Senches is finished.

That is, assuming I'm able to come through on it. Haven't touched mod-work in a long time, and the graphics have progressed a long way from Morrowind.
Plus, we have yet to see any images of TES5 Khajiit, so I'm cautiously optimistic in thinking there'll be a desirable framework to build from. If they're "too human" like in Oblivion, I may have to give it a pass this round too.

Bah, too little info to go on right now for good speculation.

I like being "human" and I like magic. Breton it is.
Although, gotta make a Nord barbarian as well!

Nord all the way. Can you imagine a Kahjiit or Argonian yelling a Dragon Shout?

First character is going to be a Breton battlemage as a pyrokine with some slight inspiration from http://images2.layoutsparks.com/1/22871/roy-mustang-cartoon-poster.jpg.

Not sure what characters to play after that but will probably play after the Breton is a ex brotherhood argonian assassin, a khajiit, and after playing one of the beast races a former Nord clansman.

I'll probably run with a Khajit assassin first playthrough - unless there are werewolves in which case I'll go a redguard or imperial assassin...

If they're in then I quite fancy going werewolf but it'd seem a bit silly doing that while being a beast already.

I will probably be a wood elf, because with the two handed dagger/sword system, along with the Assassin attacks and new sneak system, I think it would be cool to be an assassiny knife guy... Wood Elves are good at that stuff aren't they?

Probably Bosmer, I usually start out as one. Then either Nord or a new Bosmer for some main quest fun

In the country of the Nords... So it only feels right to play as a Nord bleeding for his own land's freedom.

Nord all the way.

^This.

I can't decide if I'm going to start with a Nord or wait until 2nd or 3rd playthrough to figure out character traits and leveling...

Do you all assume like me that the story is probably going to make more sense if you are a Nord playing through the main quest, just like it was presumed that you should have been Dunmer in Morrowind and Imperial in Cyrodiil (Oblivion)?

(I always eventually choose Altmer for the magicka boost though...so many choices, so little time to decide! )

Darkelf 'cause they are good in everything and best in nothing (at least were in previous games) and first playtrough is always little crazy 'cause you don't know anything about missions/anything else so i can upgrade all skills a little (I've also started as darkelf in previous games so it's a tradition).

to tell you the truth none, i kind of wish that they had replaced some of theose races for some other ones, for example there are 3 type of elfs, take out the wood elf and put in dwarves, also you dont need that many human like races that ultimately are the same.

Dwarves .. officially.. Dwemer are a form of elf/mer
oh and they are extinct,

it would of been nice if the Falmer made a return, i mean who wants a pahetic wood elf when you can be a snow elf , although they were supposedly un out of skyrim long before the extra 200year gap since oblivion.. so its more likely than dwarfs ... perhaps Rieklings if you like being short ..

now to the question at hand.. Nord.. they're are great and being the land of the Nords it just seams right

1st Nord - Warrior (axe)
2nd Breton - Assassin (Bow, dagger)
3rd Ainmhi (Modding :D) - Warrior (dual wield sword and dagger/shortsword)
4th ??? (Possibly another Breton) - Mage (staff, magic)

Most likely a Nord, since my first characters in RPGs are mostly warriors, and Nords, especially in Skyrim, are my preferred race for warriors.
