Which race will you choose to play?

Post » Sun May 29, 2011 12:38 am

I will play as Imperial, whom I always played as, except Daggerfall and Arena (Nord then)
But I hope that instead of the generic Khajiit there will be more fleshed out species.

My TES experience could never feels right without playing some sort of foreigner type of character, so Nords are out. I like being oppressed by the unfamiliar terrains and its inhabitants.

First character for "testing the water" purpose, so to speak: A Breton spellsword or battlemage. Doesn't really count though.
Second character, where THE actual gaming commence: A feral Khajit berserker/marauder. The people of Skyrim will have a hard time to decide which one of the two that they hate more, Alduin or THIS seemingly rabid fellow.

edit: somewhat unsurprising, yet still perplexed that not enough people chose Redguards. I thought they're more optimized for the warrior type of characters compared to the other ones  .

I have not decided my first race yet. I'd like to see them all and know what seperates them before making that choice but I can tell you one thing... It won't be a Nord. It will be someone ill-prepared for life in the North. My second playthrough will be the Nord though. By that point I will know my way around and so then, so will he.

Nord first and Imperial second

No real reason. Find Nords would fit in better. :P

I guess your Argonian should start to get himself accustomed to having his tail freezing and stiff as any frozen fries.

Argonian assassin specialized in dual daggers and bow, maybe a little bit of restoration.

My first character will be a Nord. A battlemage. The reason is that when I think back, my first character in Morrowind was a Dunmer and my first in Oblivion was an Imperial - and that was all by accident. So I thought I would continue the tradition.

Bosmer as usual, unless the Khajiit looks very cool.
Only reason why I'm sorry classes is gone is that make a tourist class for my first character :)

Don't know yet, it depends on how much they change their appearance and/or racial traits/abilities.

If they are really similar (almost no changes) I'll probably make a Dunmer or an Argonian like I usually do.

Edit: I'd like to make an Orc character for Skyrim but if they look pigish like they did in OB then I won't, hopefully they will look a lot better.

Nord. Always will always have. I love being human, don't like to play as some foul creature lol.

As it stands right now I will be Breton but that could change when I get the game. The only character I won't be is an Orc.

Ah! Zeymahdovah... Yes. He is a good candidate for a first run. Especially if that concept art is close to the mark.

Either an Orc, Argonian, or Khajiit. It depends on how I'm feeling at the character creation screen (and how skills/skill trees turn out), though I'll definitely play as the other two eventually.

You sure that you're not just some racially-confused Altmer though?

Argonian as usual.

1. Argonian assassin with light armor, bow and daggers
2. Argonian warrior with heavy armor
3. ...Maybe I should try another race for a mage...or not. :D

My first character in Daggerfall, Morrowind, and Oblivion were all Argonians, I imagine I'll continue that tradition :)

While this is a topic that has come up several times in the past I don't see any recent ones so it's OK to keep this one open.

This.

Most likely Imperial, but possibly Nord. It all depends....

I don't want to be too small this time round, considering it's in the lands of the giant Nords, but at the same time I don't want to be a Nord and feel too tall and be looking down on people.

Argonians are awesome, that was my first Morrowind character. But I always end up playing a Bosmer, goes along with a stealth based character well I suppose.
And you gotta love that nasal voice ;]
