Which race do you most hope gets a major overhaul?

I have high hopes for the Argonian because the Khajiit looks fab and as far as I know they are being made by the same designer ;)

I don't know which one to pick. They could all use a good bit of improvement.

Appearance-wise, definitely the beast races. Especially Khajiit. They looked far too timid in Oblivion for my tastes.

And this isn't really an appearance thing, but I also hope they fix the voices for the races. It's awkward listening to a Khajiit and Argonian converse when both of them have the same voice actor. Same goes for all forms of Elves.

The race I'm looking forward to seeing the most are the Argonians, but it is the Bosmers who are in a dire need of a overhaul the most.

  • Altmer have always looked hideous in Morrowind games with receding hair lines and bad 80s hairstyles. They are supposed to be elegant, beautiful and magical! Surely they need the greatest overhall down to even their eye shape.
  • Argonian humanoids have always looked quite good I think. Perhaps more predatory would be a good touch, but their animations have always been remarkable in my eyes.
  • Bosmer folk have always looked so... pitifully weak instead of mysteriously enchanting and frollicky.
  • Breton men and women have always seemed barely any different from Imperial men and women. The difference is that they seem even more drab.
  • Dunmer have never really been represented very well in facial structure... they look weak and beady eyed where they are supposed to look dark, forbidding and corrupted.
  • Imperial men and women have always looked so very plain instead of classy as you would have expected from the privileged race of Cyrodil.
  • Khajiit folk look good in SKyrim from what Ive seen.
  • Nord folk look good in Skyrim from what Ive seen.
  • Orc skin colour was never really believable, I would have assumed a more natural colouration would be a brownish-green. Orc culture never seemed to be reflected in their manner either, and they (being an ugly race) never seemed to be barred from the nicer parts of town where the higher classes would have had an issue with them.
  • Redguard attire never really reflected their culture. They always appeared to be so very flat and not round. Flat characters are some what vague where as round characters are well fleshed out to provide a sense of believable realism.

I voted Redguard as far as who NEEDED it the most. They looked like imperials covered in red clay.

But I WANT the Bosmer to be changed the most. More like their art and lore and less goofy. I'm tired of Bosmer being a running gag. Their lore sounds awesome but none of the ones ingame are ever like that.

I voted Argonian, because I remember being shocked, going from Morrowind to Oblivion, because the animal races didn't look that "animal" anymore. Argonians lost their tails, and both Khajiit and Argonians looked more like humans (with fur/or scales).
I strongly hope that elves will get a more unique look too.
About humans, I don't really care, they look good from what I've seen on the already released screenshots.

I'm looking forward to the beast races.
Voted Bosmer though.

Also, consideing the voices in oblivion, a lot of the races needed an overhaul for that.

Redguards for me, I don't understand why they don't look lanky and tall like Usain Bolt when they have the same African-Carribbean origin. IMO Redguards should be way more lean than stocky especially being from the hottest part of Tamriel.

Bosmer just looked plain silly in my opinion in Morrowind and Oblivion. The race illustration (as demonstrated by Bosmer Legion) looks many, many times cooler than they do ingame. I know it's par for the course in TES for illustrations and ingame things to look nothing like each other but still. Bretons also need to look more distinct from Imperials and have an appearance that relfects their half-elf origins.

Lol, who voted for anything besides Argonians?

Delete your vote and vote correctly.

They looked fine in Oblivion IMO :)

The dunmer only need GREY skin, other than that they are perfect in OB (the race, not the faces...), argonians looked quite stupid, nord and breton women were "divinely" pale! (actully all reces′ women were much paler, than their men: dunmer blue, nord/breton shining white...)

Well everyone in OB looked terrible (just like in MW). Why does everyone in the TES world have to be so ugly (thank you modders).

The ones that needed the most work were the beast races and orcs. Orcs were just way to cartooney looking, way too green. It was almost impossable to make a unique looking Khajiit without changing the color or facial features so bad that it looked freaky. At least argonians could have different colors. Of these three they were the better looking IMO.

Yes I often wondered how Guards were able to tell my Khajit apart from other Khajits... how they sent the right Khajit to jail beats me!

Since I'll be playing a Bosmer on my first playthrough, I voted for Bosmer. But all races need an overhaul and based on the Orc and Khajiit screens I've seen, I think we'll be getting just that with Skyrim. Can't wait to apply a beard that looks like hair and not dried algae scrubbings from the bottom of a boat.

EDIT: I still loves ya, BGS! :tes:

Dunmer, because they ust looked like any other race with red eyes. They are sposed to look corrupted and really hideous.
Oh, and I really want their voice from morrowind back.

Argonians should look more like animals and less like human. Their naked torso is ridiculous.

I kind of hope we can have the choice of eyes other than red on the Dunmer. Yes, I know they are SUPPOSED to be red, but if i could, I would have them another color.
