I like most races in Tamriel, but feel most connected with dark elves, khajiit and especially argonians (I feel like the latter are misunderstood underdogs that try their best hehe). The only problem is that the practical aspect of TES games is too dominant, so I never feel like it's worthwhile to choose Dark Elves (due to the outright pathetic Ancestor Ghost thing). Khajiit are cool, but in Oblivion and Morrowind I found their skill sets to be a little at odds with my playstyle. The Argonians were awesome in Morrowind, but in Oblivion they looked really bad. Not at all like lizards SHOULD look.

For Skyrim, if they succeed in making all races look really good, I'm definitely going to play an Argonian - or basically each race. My female Mage might be an Altmer instead of a Breton and I might try my Zahn Mathana character again (a Dunmer swordmaster and destructionist, 2H originally plus Dualwield in Skyrim). Actually, as I'm typing, I'm wondering if I should make a list of 10 characters that all are unique and with a history, and they shall follow me for each new Elder Scrolls game lol.

Imperial - "Tengil" lawful evil character, based on both the Tengil of Sandemo's "Ice People Saga" and the Tengil of Lindgren's "The Lionheart Brothers".
Redguard - "Rolan" defender of the realms, heavy armor and shield (plus 1H weapon) specialist.
Breton - "Elena" shortsighted flurry mage born under The Atronach
Nord - "Voldur" all-out combat survivalist (my version of Conan, basically - little less strong and more agile/cunning, but just as fierce and barbaric)
Orc - "Krugo" TES equivalent to Masamune, Japan's (and the world's) greatest swordsmith in history.
Wood Elf - "Miria" (?) archer healer
High Elf - "Mao Aranosh" hardcoe Archmage who knows every single spell in the book.
Dark Elf - "Zahn Mathana" Battlemage/Spellsword destructionist. Anti-hero (like The Crow and The Punisher), tricked by an Illusion witch into killing his own lover.
Argonian - "Xartos Lloxtrum" Decadent and aristocratic, but fights like a lion for the weak and enslaved, against all injustice. Sometimes, he even infiltrates the unjust strategically.
Khajiit - "Rhuja" The biggest piece of [censored] you'll ever know. He kills and betrays for a living, and could easily be mistaken for the main antagonist of any epic game plot.

Nord

I'm the warrior type, so it makes sense. Not to mention using Axe/Mace as weapons.

I used a Nord as my first character in Morrowind.

Though a Redguard knight (Archibald of Ur) is usually my first choice, I think this time I may use a British Breton mage (always a favourite), perhaps play him as a battlemage.

I like using the bow a lot as a ranged assassin so Bosmer it is for me. I'm interested in seeing the character customization in this game. Bosmer with a beard or stubble? An Italian Wood Elf? That's me...not making a race joke here, I really am of Italian decent and have a thick beard LOL. If they have different types of fur for Khajiit, I may play a furry feline on a second playthrough if I could make it look like a snow leopard to blend in with the snow. Nord characters would be cool just because it is their homeland. Would love to see more varied NPC reactions to different types of PCs. E.g. if an NPC is Bosmer, their disposition towards me as a Bosmer should be much better than if that NPC were say a Dunmer or Altmer. I think with the re-vamped AI, multiple playthroughs in Skyrim will be a lot more fun.

My 1st character will be an argonian, they work well for general jack of all trades character that I will play with 1st after that I will likely go with a different race for each of my mage, thief, and fighter characters. I love to begin a character and see how it goes then do 1 guild line with it and some random quests then start another character with a different race and play through the game again with it

After two hundred years im saying im gonna be a descendant of my cyrodilic champion..he obviosly slept with several women being the hero he was...somehow that dragons blood got into the champions receding for two generations..then came me at the start of skyrim about to be excuted for being at the wrong place at the wrong time..ehem..excuse me..right time...how else would i start the main quest if it was destiny that brought me there..according to patrick stewart..i mean uriel septim

This is also good! I like both ideas for your characters, as well as my own. :D

That would be the Bosmer, not a wise choice

Hey, I resent that remark!

Ok I think its clear that if any race deserves a make-over and more incentive to play as them, it's the Orismer

This poll is just not right. 1/100 people pretty much means we have 9 selectable races, rather than 10. :shakehead:

I'll create a hybrid Breton-Redguard race called Breadguard.

That is the same thing I play for the first time in all TES games.

My character is a legendary brood of Dragon Knights. In morrowind and oblivion my redguard was a master swordsman, he wore the red mournhold armor, and had a shield and longsword. The name of my character is Akbar, no last name because to his order of knights it is a "title" (The person who started the order was named Akbar, but his last name was lost in history) when Akbar falls another rises to replace him and swears to defend all injustice.

My second character is usually a stealthy bosmer. I might go for a Nord as my second though, probably will just complete the main quest with my redguard though.

Jokes aside, i think they should include Titles in this game. They could be either purchased (for a hefty sum) or earned through some quest achievement etc. Different titles could give you different bonuses (or even penalties) when talking to certain people, or just be there for show.

I play a Khajiit thief and an Argonian assassin, I love the beast races, then probably all the other races like I did in Oblivion. A lot of characters I start and then abandon and start over... I may have had over 50 different characters in Oblivion...

I really want to see how these two character pan out in your playthrough. Both seem plenty interesting :D

Orc first. I just hope they look more badass like in Morrowind rather than the "hurrr durp" face everyone had in Oblivion.

I would vote on the option that there would be another topic on the same subject next week, if such an option existed. And wood elf, of course...
