Which side should i join?

Depending on your views, choose a side that you think is the good side.

What I know is that the Imperial Legion is trying to stop the Skyrim to gain its own independence, while Stormcloak Skyrim wants to gain its own independence and have their own "empire."

Being independent seems to me like they are wanting a Empire, but oh well. :P

It is really as simple as the empire looks at the future, the stormcloaks look at the now

That would only be true if they started to annex or conquer areas outside Skyrim.

Talk to every possible NPC that gives an opinion or insight that you can find (use uesp.net if you have to) then read every lore book having to do with the civil war and the great war. Doing so will give you all the insights and opinions provided by the game itself and you can figure out then which motive is best for your character.

I mean, I get asking questions about things you don't know. But this guy isn't even trying to figure things out for himself.

Either that, or he's... never mind.

Race can matter. Obviously it doesn't matter in so far as it doesn't limit the decisions you can actually make in game. But when you factor in racial history, and past relations between races and factions (and current relations between races and factions), it certainly does become a factor.

However, just like real life, all members of a particular race aren't of a hive mind, which brings me to this:

Not all Altmer would automatically believe in the agenda of the Thalmor, and could very much oppose the Thalmor.

But I can tell from this post, and others that followed, that you're posting a lot in jest, so I know I don't need to take this overly seriously :)
