Which side?

Post » Sun May 18, 2014 2:02 pm

I also express my doubt about that the Empire would just let Skyrim go after the war. Why the hell would they? They just fought a bloody war to keep them under Cyrodiil's boot, why just let them go now without a fight? Makes no sense.

Can't say I've seen that line anywhere.

As for SCs kicking the Thalmor out, yes it's a great thing that they would do that. But there are a whole lot of other places where they need to be kicked out too. And a united Empire is the most viable option to do that. Question here is if you care more about Skyrim or other parts of Tamriel. SCs do a lot of good for Skyrim, no denying that, but if we want to take the fight to the Thalmor itself, we need mankind to stand under one banner to do that. And as I have said, after the Thalmor is gone I won't care whether or not Skyrim remains in the Empire, or if the Empire itself remains. I want Valenwood and Alinor liberated ASAP and that's all I care about.

You're right its doubtful. Probably just wishful thinking. But its a possibility. I never said it will happen. I should be more clear in the future.

That line is from the book "Nords of Skyrim" I think.

I think you are overstating the Empire's ability to stay united, given the events in Skyrim. With

Spoiler
the assassination of the Emperor, I think it is far from a wise move to have the Elder Council in charge of the remaining provinces.

The next inevitable war with the dominion would have to be hundreds - if not thousands - of years off. Elves take forever to reproduce, they take forever to age, they take forever to train and they lost their entire invasory army. The only army they have left is the army they need to defend Summerset. They aren't going to act with that.

That's if the Elves start it anyway. Men could start it sooner and win.

Are you saying skyrim will be completely annihilated down to the mines, children, people, trees, farms, and everything after the next war?

Can anyone give me a good solid reason to join either side beside "you pick op" because I did both sides and I see both sides advantages and disadvantages but this character has to chose which side someday so I can finish Skyrim once and for all.

No doubt it will be soon. Not hundreds or thousands of years. That's just ridiculous.

And right when the Empire is getting somewhere in these debates, someone just happens to bring in the Emperor....

Yes, Skyrim will be burned right through the ground. Not even grass will remain standing.

I'm saying that with the Empire's resources depleted after the 2nd GW, it won't have those resources (I think) to keep their provinces.

No, it really isn't. Elves take longer to reproduce, they reproduce in fewer numbers, they have shorter spans of fertility.

and the Emperor being assassinated is a good indicator that the Empire can do nothing other than fail.

Men will be acting soon. Not the thousands of years you mention. That's what makes it ridiculous. The Thalmor by then would have already completed their plans.

The Emperor being assassinated is a terrible setback. We need more information on that.

The Dominion will most likely lose. This is a Bethesda series, and in Bethesda games the bad guys never win. I'd be seriously surprised if Beth took a 180 and had the Dominon win a second time, especially if the next TES will be set during the next war (likely).

Also, I'm totally sick of that DB argument. We don't know if Mede II has heirs or who will succeed him so it's a complete waste of time to discuss it. We know that the man will be gone but we know absolutely nothing about what comes after that. And of course it's no surprise that Stormcloak supporters would be quick to say that the Empire blows up after Mede II is gone, because that serves your personal goals. "I like the idea, then it must be true" argument. Maybe his death will hamper the Empire, maybe it serves it. Maybe Mortierre was telling the truth and the assassination will be to great benefit of the Empire. Only thing you can pull from that is circlejerk fantasies, but we won't know what will truly happens until the next game tells us. Maybe the Empire will blow up, maybe it won't.

You say that while ignoring the irl books. :icecream: You can't ignore evidence and then disregard Tdroid's argument and expect us to take you as more than a grain of salt.

The Imperials' elitism is highly justified, given how long they've managed to keep their ex-masters under their boot. For the tough stock that they are the Nords sure have a hard time living up to their ancestors. If it wasn't for the Dominon Skyrim would still be Cyrodiil's number one bioootch.

Tell me where it says that the Empire will blow up after Mede dies. I have read no books, I play Skyrim to pass time and not to substitute reality with it.

Except no one ever said that. I could say that about Nords. "Oh ya! Filthy Imperials! Almighty Talos! Talos ya! Oh yeah! Death to Elves, oh ya!".

It doesn't have the resources to do so now, obviously.(Not even cyrodiil, given cicero's journal)

If they didn't have the resources, they "obviously" wouldn't be preparing to war with the Dominion, and have soldiers at their borders

But its also just mainly biased. I'm afraid no one took your character in consideration and just yapping about the future.

Sorry about that.
