Which Skyrim feature do you want most?

Vote for your favorite, and tell us why.

It was a tough choice for me between the Creation Kit and Improved Animations, but TES has needed animations since it went 3D. So for me its animations.

No more oblivion robots! My horse should not be able to run up a 70 degree incline plane using a really bad jump animation. And the oblivion water hoping, im glad its over.

I picked Skyrim but I'm most looking forward to Character Creation. I can't wait to see how much Beth has improved it from Oblivion/FO3.

I picked the physics. However I, like you, can't wait to see the character creation the most. I'm really hoping for a great deal of customisation with tattoos, body sizes e.t.c.

I'm curious... why are you looking so much forward to when you create your character? Why is that so important when you barely ever see your character (in neither 1st or 3rd person, unless you're using the camera to focus only on the character).

I'm personally looking most forward to the story in Skyrim. I think the story is just awesome. The dragons, the dragonborn, the civil war...
I think the story is going to be one of the best ever. Perhaps even better than Morrowind's. So I chose Dragons, even though it's not exactly fitting for what I'm looking forward to.

I was thinking about putting an option for that, but not enough information has been revealed to get excited over a particular feature thats gonna make the character creation unique

I'll answer. Just because I don't always look at my character's face, doesn't mean I don't know what it looks like. Also, with killing moves and such, it looks like you may see them a little more than before.

Ok, I know that you get to see your character at some rare times, unless you focus your camera on him/her. But still, exactly why is it so important with character creation? I don't get it.

Like I said, just because I'm not looking at my character, doesn't mean I don't know what they look like. If they look like chunky faced ugly munters like they did previously (imo), I can't get the fact that my character is fugly out of my head.

So you care about it because you otherwise have this kind of subconscious feeling that your character is ugly and need to confirm the opposite by making a nice character through character creation and then look at it from time to time?
Maybe I still don't get it :P

The thing I get the least is why so many seem to care about their character's looks so much (this isn't directed to you, but to what I feel to be a general population for TES/Fallout games). Look at TESNexus for instance. Like 80-90% of all screenshots are of their characters (usually these slim girls, often anime, with big briasts and very revealing armour) doing some pose. Could someone please explain this behaviour to me? Why?

I'm afraid I can't really, other than the fact that people, society, is massively centered around appearance. You know the information, how you look when you say it, taller people are more successful e.t.c.

If I took a stab at it, it would be that people put beauty on a pedastal. To be honest, it irritates me a great deal when so much of the modding community is focused on this issue, particularly with the ridiculous ones and the overly revealing armour which looks ridiculous. That being said, if they want that, why not?

Well damn, if you're going to include the Creation Kit in with the rest of that, I don't really have a choice. All of the other things could be modded in.

After that, I'd pick Hand-crafted Dungeons, then Revamped Combat, then Skyrim.

There was no 'game engine' or 'new lighting' option, so I just said the Creation Kit. I plan on making some epic quest mods. :D

Well if you're going to document your epic deeds with screenshots, you wouldn't want to look like Ugly McBignose.

I can try to explain it. People are so interested on the appearance of their avatar because TES is essentially a RPG, so you are playing a role and developing an immersive self story that is external and independant from the story scripted by Bethesda. You want your character to represent the imaginitive self story you are creating, resulting in a much more immersive experience than intended by the story of the game alone.

As for the big briasts anime characters, they just must really like Japan. I'm actually not a fan of anime at all, but I am of fan of briasts. Bigger is better. I am male, so I play a male,.....but I have an army of big briast CM companion women assassins siting in my stronghold.

I know, but a large population of people play on console, and only a fraction of people on PC are willing to use the kit, so yea to the few,..the kit is all u need.

Yeah. If they want it, sure. But sometimes it just makes me think for myself "What the... [censored]?" or sometimes it just makes me kind of sad thinking how focused people actually are on those kind of things.
In my opinion, it pretty much destroys what TES-games are about. Seeing them everywhere all the time on popular mod sites like TESNexus is kind of distracting and gives the wrong impression of the game imo. If someone totally new to TES would enter TESNexus and look at the pictures and such, I wonder what that person would think.

If I could, I would press a "hide" button on all these kind of things on TESNexus. Still, they have every right to do it if they want to. I'm just saying I don't like it and don't see the point of it. In my honest opinion.

Since the issue has shifted to the mods, which isn't what this is about, do you not see the point about having a more indepth character creation system? I mean following the slippery slope from where you're concerned, we might as well play lumps of human shaped clay, and all armour might as well look ugly, since what's the point?

These things are aesthetically pleasing and that's why they exist. I want cool looking armour, weapons and landscapes. I also want cool looking characters, beautiful women, perhaps not as mental as the mods but better than what we've previously seen.

They should look moderately OK/Good. But I don't really care much about how my character look because I very very rarely see him. Mainly because 1) I play 1st person, 2) I wear armor, I don't run around naked or with clothes, 3) I don't see the point of my character looking like a model, mainly because I very very rarely see him.

If we talk about NPCs looks, then hell yeah! That's a different thing :P
Because those I see all the time.

Why? It's one thing to muse about why people want them to look really good. but to assert that they "should look moderately OK?Good" is another thing, and then the question can be asked of you. It's a feature of the game that obviously adds a lot for a lot of people, why would you want them to miss out just because you don't "see the point"?

Then we might as well have a good looking main character, since why use different body models and faces for the main character to make sure they look 'moderate' while attempting to make NPCs look good. Might as well use the same for both. Since I want varying people (chubby, muscular, good looking and ugly), why not have it so the main character can be too. I don't see your issue.

Radiant Story is what it is cracked up to be I might not end up doing all the same quests each playthrough. Well to some degree at least.

That would be interesting.

The same reason there isn't just a "Fighting" and "Not dying" skill, people don't want to play an rpg where everyone looks, acts and plays the same way. If people want to play a warrior build instead of a mage, you don't say, "Well magic is stronger, its not like anyone else cares what you do or do not do".

The mods aren't actually part of oblivion. If someone wants to judge a game based on community mods rather than the official game, then they are judging the modders, not the game. What should the modders be modding if not what they want to? I mean it is their time they're spending making these mods. You know you can't even see the advlt mods at TES nexus unles you sign up and verify you are over 18. So the TES mod judging noobs are safe

I agree. If you're not gonna roleplay, then read a book or see a movie, they're cheaper alternatives.

Yea I think it would be tough if not impossible to do them all in an honest playthrough. Assuming that there is a finite end to them.

Hm maybe it was wrongly said in that first little sentence. You should have read everything I said in its context instead of choosing one part. Then you'd probably answered your own questions.
If you want it explicit, it should have said "As long as my own character look moderately good/OK, I don't care."
