Which stars mark my birth?

Post » Wed Aug 18, 2010 4:39 pm

If the stars that mark a person's birth, such as the warrior and the mage, depend on when a person is born, then could someone help me find out which one marks an Elder Scrolls version of an October birth?

I think it has to do with whatever stars are in during that night, not depending on the mounth. If it were for a mounth then that would mean the stars were the same every day for an entire month :) Their is some mathatmatical thing you could probably do if you had a specific year but im not sure.

From http://www.imperial-library.info/astro/:

Morning Star: The Ritual
Sun's Dawn: The Lover
First Seed: The Lord
Rain's Hand: The Mage
Second Seed: The Shadow
Mid Year: The Steed
Sun's Height: The Apprentice
Last Seed: The Warrior
Hearthfire: The Lady
Frostfall: The Tower
Sun's Dusk: The Atronach
Evening Star: The Thief

The Serpent has no fixed month, because the Serpent has no fixed position in the sky, being made of unstars. It moves around the sky, threatening other constellations. If you're born in a month where the Serpent is threatening the constellation, then you're born under the Serpent.

To get the real-world month equivalent, just swap out names down the list. Morning Star is January, Sun's Dawn is February, etc...

I'm a Thief, although the description doesn't fit me very well, since I'm not really the risk-taking type. http://www.imperial-library.info/obbooks/ffoulke_firmament.shtml gives descriptions of the signs.

I'm The Steed, apparently. I am often impatient, but I don't see myself as strong-willed or eager as one of such birth would be.

A star is just a hole in Oblivion that acts like a bridge to Aetherius. So how do you explain what an unstar is?
And what exactly constitutes "threatening" in this case? How does a constellation of unstars threaten a constellation of stars?

Not sure.

I think TC wanted to know if he picked the correct month in the game as his birthday month.

That is correct, but I didn't. I picked The Warrior, but I would be born under The Tower. The Tower doesn't really help a knight though.

Apparently I'm The Lady, a shame, for my IRL magicka is already fairly low due to being a human and I was really gunning for The Atronach.

And I could be considered to have been born under The Atronach... but I'm almost certain The Serpent was threatening it when I was born. I've never fit in, distrust authority, etc. etc.

A moving hole in Oblivion that acts like a bridge to Aetherius. :)

I think "threatening" means that it is very close to the other birthsign, that's all. It will either pass through the other birthsign or come very close at least. Of course, it won't "threaten the birthsign" in any serious way, it's just a metaphorical term.

It's all in the in-game books, by the way, so there's no need to doubt what he said.

Oh, and I'm The Shadow. But I also think that The Serpent is more likely... after all, I love dragons. :)

Well, most stars were made when magnus and other spirits left mundus, and the only time i?ve seen a reference to "unstars" is when someone is tlaking about The Serpent, wich represents Lorkhan.

Lorkhan never left mundus, and probably never would?ve wanted to, so there comes the term "unstar"
