Which Vendor Is the Best?

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 1:11 am

Quartermaster Bardon is the best for ammo since he has thousands of every ammo type. The Gun Runner vendortron is best for weapons. Contreras is good, but he's a weasel who I put in an NCR prison cell.

Quartermaster Bardon is almost there except his is deep inside Hoover Dam. Gunrunner Vendotron is right at the fast travel point.

Yeah but Vendortron barely carries ammo :/ I only use him to offload junk anymore.

The vendor machines, trade useless boxs of cigars for stimpack and weapon repair kits. Mhmmm. Machine for the win

I don't think I knew about Quartermaster Bardon 'till I read this thread. I never really explore Hoover Dam much, it's such a trek. Anyway, Contreras is good for ammo, but Vendortron's my fave 'cause he'll deal with me no matter how many factions I've alienated. Alexander should be useful too, but he never updates his stock for me.

There's the buying side, and then there's the selling side (until swimming in caps, at least). The "I can give you a little break..." is not so little, buying your stuff at 100% of list price. Fairly early on for my current goody-two-shoes (when most vendors gave me 58%) I was getting 100% from Trudy (almost no money), Johnson Nash (moderate), and Doctor Usunagi (several thousand caps). Cliff Briscoe gave me 76% from his moderate cash, and Julie Farkas gave me 81% from her several thousand. Once I cleaned them out--if I didn't want to wait for them to restock--I looked for the vendors with lots of cash, like Contreras and Gun Runners and Calamity, with Chet and Lacey early on and later the West Vegas crew: Miguel's Pawn and Klamath Bob.

I use all those listed but honorable mention should also go to the sink merchant in novac. Steady supply of grenades, mines, skill mags, and my personal favorite C4. Oh the fun I have with that stuff.

Vendortron for my conventional weapons and most mods. Just about anybody handy will do for selling loot.

Hover Dam QM and Great Khans for ammo needs. Buyout Contreras' stock of .308 and 12.7mm rounds once.

I’ve had a problem with several vendors. First it was the Gun Runners, who would steal from my inventory, advanced weapons mostly. Then it was Nick and Ralph who would cheat me out of my caps when selling them excess weapons. In the end I killed the two crooks and took all their money after having them do repairs and buying out all their special inventory.

Vendertron.

Whenever I'm short on ammo, he's got plenty.
