Which is your favorite Daedric prince?

Suggesting he is a discarded version of Akatosh, or something like that?

Eh, I don't know jack diddly about half the daedra, Peryite included.

Then again, only a very few were given some role, other than glorified merchants.

Boethiah, because I'm superficial and he looks the coolest...

Yeah, she has bigger pecks than me, so I'd think twice before taking a dump on her priestess' heads. Sanguine never minded those kinds of jokes.

Hermaeus Mora, obviously. He's erm...a giant squid. That's KIND of awesome.

Well, he's considered to be one of the bad daedra.

The bad Daedra (I'm assuming you mean in the Dunmer pantheon, since I've never heard reference to "bad Daedra" in any other pantheons) are Molag Bal, Malacath, Sheogorath, and Mehrunes Dagon, according to Darkest Darkness. Peryite isn't even mentioned there.

Sure he meant "bad" as in overtly malevolent...

Hrmm....I could have sworn I heard him being mentioned of being one of the more "evil" ones in some dialog in MW. Could have been my dyslexia too. But yes, I mean bad as in malevolent.

EDIT: Okay, misused the word bad. Should have stayed with destructive, in that he also takes pleasure in destruction. Taking from the book On Oblivion, "Mehrunes Dagon, Molag Bal, Peryite, Boethiah, and Vaernima are among the most consistently “demonic” of the Daedra, in the sense that their spheres seem to be destructive in nature...Peryite's sphere seems to be pestilence"

Merdia cause she's hot.

But really, I like Meridia because of her stance on the undead. I mean, only a few daedra venerate life over death, and Meridia is one of them.

Voted for Namira, second to Namira would have been Sheogorath and then Mephala.

Hermaeus Mora, for sure. Who wouldn't love a weird giant multi-eyed, tentacled blob with lobster claws? I always play mages or otherwise intelligent, well-read characters, so his sphere of knowledge is cool to me. It would be awesome to go to his giant library realm Apocrypha and read some of his hidden knowledge that he has there. And talk to some tormented ghosts, too.

Hermaeus Mora, definatly, for his usual looks and intelligence at the same time. Who would ever think of a squid as intelligent? And his sphere sounds the most interesting. Ghosts who seek endless knowledge, haunting a library filled with forbidden knowledge. Plus I like books.

Boethiah-

(S)He likes the power...in that obsessive, constant, devolving into paranoia way. Murder, treason, glory and revolution. Besides...Trinimac is tasty. And even though no one seemed to vote for Malacath...no Boethia, no Trinimac tartar, no Malacath.

The only problem I have with Hermaeus Mora is its realm. You never find anything you want. Reminds me of a certain episode of Twilight Zone.

Vaermina by far. I always liked oneiromancer-type characters and she's a daedra who pesters people in their sleep, driving them into raving mad lunatics. Sure enough, Sheogorath could likely do that too, but he always seemed like silly and chaotic rather than really evil.

Amen to that. I kinda always thought that making people go insane through a dream is fascinating. The subliminal part of the brain hold alot of my interest.

I just thought that this would be a fun thing to do :celebration:
Please don't just pick one, like Mehrunes Dagon because he's bad@$$ or Sheogorath because he's funny as hell. Vote for them because you are interested in them or what they represent. Do some research first:
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore%3a%44aedric_Princes

hehe, I findit ironic you told the lore forum to do some research, and then linked them to UESP.

Sheogorath. Because he has an intensity that the others lack. He can run loops around the other daedric princes, and takes the form of a human. See, he isn't as megalomanic as some of the others.

EDIT: But Sheogorath beat Vaermina. Vaermina turned a man mad with horriffic nightmares. Sheogorath turned him madder simply by doing nothing at all.

Yes!

All others best check themselves lest they wreck themselves.

There is more to Sheog than simple madness. There is a good deal of lore that links to Sheog than people probably realize.

I dont think there is any other way to say what Daedric Prince is my favorate. If Prowler is a full card carrying member of the Meridia fanclub, then I'm it's president.

Why? When i first started my Meridia fixation, nothing was known about her. She was obsucure. On similar polls like this, she always got last, or near last. And that mysteriousness got to me. What is she about? What was her sphere? Eventually, she became more well-known, her sphere became known. But I'll still support her...
