Which is your favorite Daedric prince?

Clavicus Vile, as I find him to have the best name. You can't be a truly cool anything without a cool name.

I can't decide between Hermaeus Mora and Peryite. They are among the less chaotic of the Daedra, and are not rubbish like Jygalag. Seriously, any Daedric Prince who can't defeat a mortal should hang their head in shame. I also like how Peryite's 'sphere' is both mysterious and conflicting - some claim it is ordering the lower levels of Oblivion, while others claim it is Pestilence or Strife. He is also cruel, as the UESP says he is one of the Daedra who takes pleasure in destruction.

In truth, I don't really know why I like these two, I just do.

I voted for Peryite. He only just beats Mora.

Ah, it's been a long time since we had a pointless "popularity contest" thread in this forum. Oh, and Lorkhan, of course. :P

Lorkhan is Daedric?

Well, we're not sure, but in Paradise (Oblivion), Mankar Camoran tells the player that Nirn is a plane of Oblivion and Lorkhan is its Daedric Prince.

Lorkhan is Daedric?

Yes/No/Maybe so.

He's of Padomaic origin, but has no Daedric realm in Oblivion. Recall that this term is extremely relative; Malac, or rather Trinimac, was once Anuic, yet he has a Daedric realm. Meridia also is Anuic, yet has a daedric realm. Shor helped create the mortal plane along with the Aedra; is he Aedric?

None of them is corrupt >_<
They are just themselves.
Dagon`s sphere is destruction for example, so don`t expect him to wander around peacefully across Tamriel. But it doesn`t make him corrupt...
And it`s possible Peryite's sphere is also pestilence (but it`s not confirmed by any book as far as I remember), so it`s possible he`s not so "good", because I guess it was what you did mean.
Yet again... for some ppl dagon might be good ^^
It depends on point of view.

Mikhail Bakunin: "The passion for destruction is also a creative passion." Could well be the Order of the Mythic Dawn's mantra. Seen in a revolutionary light, Dagon doesn't seem so bad.

But as I've said before, I prefer Sanguine. I need a beer...

Hermaeus Mora for sure. If you have to spend an eternity doing something, reading tome after tome of forbidden knowledge seems like a good choice.

Also, it's hilariously appropriate that Malacath is dead last in the poll.

Sheogorath of course.

And it's true, none of them are corrupt. They are just themselves. They don't quite fit into the mortal understanding of 'good' and 'bad' and are quite difficult to understand. I don't believe it's even possible for a daedric prince to be 'corrupt.'

But really, it's Jyggalag who ought to be last. I mean, did Sheogorath not say that Jyggalag is even less popular at parties than Malacath? "And Malacath is not popular at parties."

I voted for Mehrunes Dagon, initially. There's actually a few more that I would have voted for, if I could. I suppose if I put them in order, it would look something like this:

1. Mehrunes Dagon
2. Mephala
3. Sheogorath

Mehrunes Dagon is a big one to me, because he represents a few things I love, like ambition, and revolution. Without either of those, change never happens. I'm also a Mythic Dawn fanatic, so they go hand in hand.

Mephala I love, because he's SO fascinating in his ways. As a webspinner, the job never gets boring, there's always some fool to toy with. I find it so enthralling the trials he puts mortals through. What's not to love?

Sheogorath. This one doesn't need an explanation. The Madgod is just that awesome. If I lived in his realm, it would definitely be in Bliss. Crucible scares the hell out of me. I find myself more interested in getting blitzed out of my mind, or my heart exploding, than ending up in a torture chamber. Anyway!

Great poll.

Please note that Sheogorrath is gone and the current Prince of the realm of insanity is 'you know who' if you did the Quests.

Is this thread about Lore or personal preferance?

True, but it's Malacath's sphere. He's essentially the Daedric Prince of unpopularity.

Personal preference. Which has absolutely nothing to do with lore. While I will say my post about Sheog has much more to do with lore rather than plain personal preference (i.e., not just some "he's hilarious" or "I like the way he looks" type of thing), I can't say that for a least 95% of the posts here.

I like Hircine best, hes just having fun. A bit psychotic but still cool.

Also, he's the reason for shape-shifting so i can play as a werewolf :)

I like the weird mysterious ones best - Meridia, Nocturnal, Boethiah, Azura, Mephala and HERMA MORA of Tidal Wiggliness.

I'm suprised Nocturnal is so unpopular. She in dark and mysterious and holds secrets that could equal Azura, other Deadric Princes have to dabble in other peoples business to entertain themselves but she doesn't even care about her own most devout followers. Sure Sheogorath is the funniest thing I've ever seen from the ES, and others are more commonly known about. But that's why I like her, I want to learn more, she is the least known of.

Irrelevant plus, the Thieves Guild worships her in a sutble way kind of, and I think that's shnazy. :goodjob:

Not really. Like celebrities, the popularity of the Daedra on the forums is equivalent to how often they are mentioned in the game. Sheogorath, Azura and Hircine have all been portrayed in more detail in (what is practically) their own game or expansion.

Nocturnal is just a god with artifacts for thieves, there isn't much more to know about her and as secrecy is her essence, they'll never be unraveled which makes trying to discover them pointless. They might as well not be there, just the pretense of a secret.

Which is why there won't be an ES game in Akavir.

I have three favorites:
1. Azura: She alone remind me of Morrowind.
2. Sheogorath: The humorous one.
3. Meridia: Love the idea of whats dead stays dead.
