My Whinge List

Post » Thu Nov 11, 2010 3:36 pm

1. Cloak - In my opinion, cloak=OP hands down. Cloak is the most abused ability in the multiplayer. I have watched countless teammates spawn, run to a corner, cloak, and wait for someone to walk by. All cloak is doing is turning an FPS with a lot of potential into Black Ops 2. Not to mention, cloak takes absolutely 0 skill to use, and gives noobs kills they do not deserve. Either make it drain energy faster, or make cloaked players more visible. Make it so 2-3 shots kills a cloaked player, and 1 melee. A cloaked player takes 2 melees, just like a someone not in cloak. This makes no sense at all. Why do you die faster when shot in cloak but not meleed? I don't have a problem with players that use cloak with a sniper, or move around the map cloaked, but I have had countless kill cams where people wait in cloak for me to walk by, and then shoot me in the back with the SCAR for 1/2 a second and I'm dead. Again, no skill, no balls, fail.

2. Cloak Tracker - Does this crap even work? I've leveled it once, and it doesn't do anything. It DOES NOT make cloaked players more visible. Maybe I need III? This perk needs to be buffed immediately. Not all of us are cloak campers or stealth players. Not all of us want to play Cloak Wars. Some of us actually want to play a game where everyone moves more than 10 feet from their spawn and earns their kills, instead of creeping in a corner in cloak, waiting for an unsuspecting player to walk by.

3. Air Stomp-Self explanatory. This perk is so inconsistent it's ridiculous, not to mention you need a certain opportunity to use it in the first place. Half of the time I use Air Stomp it doesn't even register. Total fail.

4. The SCAR - Completely OP, no skill to use whatsoever. Combine this with Aim Enhance, and you have yourself a fully automatic sniper rifle. Not only does it give noobs kills they don't deserve, it makes the Grendel and SCARAB worthless assault rifles.

5. The K-Volt - Worthless. Completely worthless. Ooooo look it takes people's shields off in 2 hits! After that...it doesn't do jack, not to mention the projectiles move slow as hell and often don't register, which is made 10 times worse when you have a bad connection. I can't say I lag a ton in this game, but when I do, the K-Volt is out gunned by the Hammer.

6. The Jackal - The Jackal is a full auto shotgun. It should out gun the SCAR at close range, EVERY TIME. Instead, the Jackal is a pea shooter that basically can't kill anyone unless they're cloaked and 2 feet away. I understand you can't beef the damage up too high because it is fully automatic and hits almost every time at close range, but come on, if I unload a clip into someone from 10 feet away, they should die.

7. Nano Suit Jammer - Has anyone actually been successful with this? Sure, you can drain someone's nanosuit if it falls right ontop of them, but after that, it doesn't do anything, everyone just avoids it. Replace this with something similar to the orbital strike.

8. Bugs - There are so many bugs I lost count a long time ago. Yes, Crytec, I want to use the pistol silencer the entire game, it is a great attachment. For some reason I can't see the quicksand that occasionally keeps me stuck in one spot. Why the hell does the game crash? Why do I always have new equipment available when I log in to multiplayer, that magically disappears when I look for it? Did you guys even test this game? I've beaten the campaign 3 times, and I've noticed a ton of bugs. Did you even play through the campaign once, Crytec? You could have beaten the campaign a couple of times, fixed the bugs, and released the game a month later. Was EA breathing down your neck or something? FFS!

WAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! :( :( :(
Okay, I feel a lot better now. Just my 2 cents.

This is the way cloak tracker works -.-

It does NOT make cloaked players easy to see people clearly don't realize that, what it DOES do is put a gold shimmer around a player who RECENTLY cloaked

key word RECENTLY

so if you see some guy running around cloaked and you rage because you cant see him its because your tracker wore off as the shimmer is only placed around the player for a small amount of time.

if it was tweaked in the way players ar pissing and whining for then it would render cloak useless all together and then would render the perk useless.

the reason why the jackal 'svcks' is because in the xbox 360 MP beta the shot gun (in my experiences) would kill ANYONE no matter if the armor was on, if they had armor enhance or if they were mid range it would kill in 1-3 shots and everyone would run around with shotguns like it was nobody's business.
The scar is fine the way it is. you want a counter? jump like a mad man over the person it really screws with people and you can kill them easily or use the feline and you can easily outgun a scar IF you aim for the neck/head. you can also out gun a scar with a grendel too whether it be close mid or long range (ive managed to do so).

Air stop Is only good in objective games like crash site when people are actually doing the objective. Ive been killed by air stop around 5 times by people jumping off the glass house on skyline and actually by some one jumping down half a flight of stairs on pier 17 in the mall.

I think cloak is fine I can't bash on your feeling of it as it's your own opinion but I feel its fine.

everything else I agree with for the most part.

everything else I agree with for the most part.

1. Cloak wouldn't be useless. I have not seen the gold shimmer around any cloaked players. Remember, not everyone uses Cloak Tracker.
2. The Jackal should be a 3 shot kill at close range against an armored player. 3 melees kills an armored player. Why wouldn't 3 shotgun blasts up close do the same thing? It wouldn't be OP if it didn't have a whole lot of range.
3. I outgun SCAR users with the Feline constantly. The problem I have with the SCAR is its range. It should not outgun the grendel. I shouldn't have to jump to beat someone. That is what you do with air stomp.
4. Wow, killed by Air Stomp 5 whole times...*clap clap clap.
5. Cloak would be fair if cloaked players would die faster if they got hit while in cloak. It mainly gives noobs cheap kills as it is. Instantly going from cloak to armor is extremely cheap and takes no skill, yet it works in just about every situation. Buffing cloak tracker could solve this problem, and make the cloak abusers actually earn their kills instead of camping in a dark corner, waiting for their next victim.

1) Nanovision is ur friend & the ability to hit Q fast

All the rest are true except:

6) The jackal svcks on full-auto haven't you figured out? (Probably worst weapon in the game), but with Single-Shot it got Pellet Spread Reduction & MUCH longer Range, i always 1 shot with it 90% of the cases! it range become sooo greater in Single-Shot i urge you to test it out yeah im aware its annoying to press 2 to Change the Firing type but its whats needed! "no skill, no balls, fail."

First of all, this isn't a CoD game where it's run&gun vs run&gun. You ever heard of checking your corners? Ever heard of slowing down your pace? Ever heard of adapting? There will be campers, and there is no way to stop it. Start adapting

Apparently, no one remembers the good ol' CS days where people keeps telling you to check your corners if you rage at small maps like fy_pool day, fy_iceworld where you get killed behind from a camper, camping at a corner.

Thanks for the tips on using the Jackal. I was unaware single shot beefed up each shot.

Play much CoD lately? CoD is NOT run and gun, it is mostly camping with Ghost and a silenced FAMAS. That's why I am so happy to play Crysis, there are a LOT less campers. Camping doesn't really tick me off as much in this game if someone is camping with something like say the Grendel, or a sniper rifle, but the people who sit in a corner with cloak and a SCAR should absolutely be penalized for their cowardice and lack of skill.

I can't say I identify with your CS experience. Most of the CS servers I played on had vote kick, and staying in one spot for too long would automatically drain health. On top of that, 90% of the time I played CS was on zombies servers, I just couldn't get enough of that ****.

Campers are a lot less annoying and a lot less prevalent in this game. I rarely die to campers, and when I do, it's almost always a sniper or a Grendel user, which I don't really consider camping anyways. Just the idea of camping makes me rage because it's cowardly, cheap, and undeserving of any reward. I have run across a few hard core campers that will cloak in a corner with a SCAR and wait for people(this is what I mean by camping), but I've figured out many ways to raqe players like that. On top of that, I'm having a lot more luck with Cloak Tracker. Also, I like to listen to talk radio while I play Crysis 2, and I had my volume turned way down. I didn't realize there is a loud noise when a player enters cloak. That was a huge part of my problem right there.

I seem to remember a Crysis2 promo trailer for multi-player where the camera zooms in on some guy camping in a corner and the word pvssy pops up on screen, and then they go ahead and stick an overpowered cloaking mechanism in the game. pfft.

Very ironic. I know not everyone agrees with me, but I think camping should result in temporary bans, or at least some form of punishment. Camping is cheap, takes no skill, and can ruin multiplayer experiences. Not only that, when these games are advertised, you don't see any camping going on. It's all action, run n gun, jumping, sliding, etc. Then you buy the game, and the reality is a campfest. Fortunately, this did not happen to Crysis 2. However, I still come across the occasional camper, and it's extremely annoying to get 6 kills and then be shot in the back by a cloaked camper.

WTF bans for camping? really?

While it's annoying, it's not cheating; and says more about your lack of skill than that of the user if you're unable to deal with it.

..and whoever said cloak is OP needs a slap. It's not even invisibility, one shot drains your energy and it already drains energy faster than any other suit mode. even with Stealth Enhance III it drains faster than Armour.

As I said in my previous post, campers aren't a huge problem in this game, there are not too many of them. Yes, I think they should be punished because the slow down and consequently ruin the game play. I don't have a problem killing them, it's just annoying. Why would I want to buy and play a game that annoys me?

Cloak is overpowered as well as annoying because it allows any noob to get easy kills, takes absolutely no skill to use, takes 2 melees to kill a cloaked player, just like a non cloaked player, can be switched for max armor in a split second, encourages camping(see above), and slows the pace of the game. I don't think it should be removed, but moving, aiming, and shooting are what have made FPS games fun(for me at least), not sneaking around in cloak, or waiting in cloak for your next unsuspecting victim to walk past you. You telling me I need a slap for stating that cloak is overpowered, which it is, and describing Cloak Enhance III, tells me that you probably have Cloak Enhance III and are one of the many people abusing the $hit out of cloak and wouldn't be able to get a kill without it.

This is true, I've had quite a bit of success with cooked grenades on this game. However, all someone has to do is activate armor mode and they're safe from the blast.

Yeah, I've recently unlocked stealth enhance 3, and I run and gun, as well as never having a problem with cloaked players. I'm pretty sure more than one person on this forum has probably bumped into me in a game, and while I make no claims of being l337, anyone who has seen me play can confirm I am no camper, and am more than able of getting kills without cloak.

The thing you don't seem to understand is, if shooting and aiming alone is what makes an FPS fun for you, you shouldn't have bought this game. This game is about tactical use of your tools, INCLUDING cloak.

Yes, it allows noobs to get a handful of kills, but not many; and they'll never be in any danger of toppong the scoreboard, or probably even having a positive K/D, which I assume is their ultimate aim.

Again, campers and cloaked campers alike are not THAT bad in this game. If you want to throw on Cloak Enhance and run and gun, I have no problem with that whatsoever. You are not the player I am whinging about.

You're assuming I don't understand "tactical use of my tools", which is untrue. I use cloak to sneak up on snipers, I use max armor quite often, especially if someone starts shooting me in the back(mostly cloaked SCAR campers), and I use power to move around the map quickly. Like you, I am not t3h 00b3r 1337, but I rarely have a negative K/D ratio. Cloak just isn't my main thing, power is.

Although it doesn't allow noobs a chance at "toppong" the scoreboard, whatever the hell that means(sarcasm), it is still annoying, and I don't usually spend 60 dollars on something that annoys me.

So.. once again, how is cloak overpowered?

You've basically said cloak is fine if you don't camp.. so your issues are with campers and not cloak.

Cloak is overpowered for many reasons:
1. Cloak allows campers to camp even harder/get cheap kills.
2. You can switch from cloak to max armor instantly, meaning any cloaked player can go from having no protection to near maximum protection instantly, starting off invisible. As long as you add perks that slow energy drain(Enhance), you can easily pull this off. I have used this strategy and it has worked very well every time, and caused a massive chimp out.
3. It takes 3 melees to kill a player in max armor, 2 to kill a player with no armor, and 2 to kill a cloaked player. Players in cloak die faster to bullets than an uncloaked player, so why wouldn't they die faster to melee as well.
4. There is no mobility penalty when using cloak, but there is when using max armor.
5. Cloak has no counter because cloak tracker svcks/needs buffed, where as max armor does have a counter(K-Volt).

Cloak is overpowered for many reasons:
1. Cloak allows campers to camp even harder/get cheap kills.
Cloaked players are visible and the game tells you where campers are hiding
That is THE strategy of Crysis2 for success; you either switch from power to armour, or from cloak to armour, whichever you are using at the time. You'd be an idiot not to switch to armour in a fight. Cloaked players are NOT invisible though, so more often than not you CAN pick them out and shoot them before they transition.
3. It takes 3 melees to kill a player in max armor, 2 to kill a player with no armor, and 2 to kill a cloaked player. Players in cloak die faster to bullets than an uncloaked player, so why wouldn't they die faster to melee as well.
It takes 2 melees to kill an armoured player. It only takes 3 melee hits if you hit them while you're in cloak. Cloaked players do not have less health than normal players, they die quicker because they lose their energy when you hit them, and so can't move or escape, or even equip armour.
4. There is no mobility penalty when using cloak, but there is when using max armor.
Why would there be? It's cloak, not an increase in density. Cloak also drains twice as fast as any other mode, and drains faster than normal armour mode even wit stealth enhance 3 - there is your penalty.
5. Cloak has no counter because cloak tracker svcks/needs buffed, where as max armor does have a counter(K-Volt).
Actually, the counter for armour would be the MIKE, which damages health directly and ignores armour. The K-Volt works on armour AND cloak for draining energy. Cloak has several counters.
1)nanovision
2)bullets
3)YOUR EYES: seriously, they're not hard to see. If you look up the developers tactics video on youtube they even say 'there is no invisibility in crysis 2'. Anyone with a decent TV can see cloaked players.

You think this cloak is bad? Try playing against Marksmen on KZ3, now THAT is real invisibility.

Campers pop up on the radar or something? Do tell of this game showing me the campers, I would be so happy to know.

A player switching from power to armor is visible the entire time. A player switching from cloak to armor is only visible when they switch to armor, when they start shooting you.

Really? I've meleed plenty of players in max armor twice while I'm not cloaked, and they didn't die.

Why is it that when I shoot a cloaked player they die nearly instantly, but when I shoot a player not in cloak and not in max armor, it takes more shots?

Max armor, just like cloak, doesn't increase density. So by your logic, there should be no mobility penalty in max armor. Anyone in cloak running out of power can hide, let their power return, and go back into cloak. That being said, a faster power drain for cloak wouldn't be a penalty, but that is just my opinion as to what constitutes a penalty.

1) I'm not running around in nano vision the entire game. I payed 60 bucks for a game with good graphics that I want to see, and I am not the Predator either.
2) Lol bullets are the counter to everything.
3) Most of the time they're not hard to see, but sometimes man, especially on dark maps like statue and evac zone, they're damn close to being invisible.

Can't say I've played KZ.

I'm not saying that cloak is the end all be all, I don't have any problems getting good K/D ratios, even when the other team is a bunch of cloak fanatics. I do consider it to be somewhat overpowered because of the lack of counters it has, its ability to give noobs cheap kills, and because there are no penalties while using it.

Bumping.

News: After unlocking Cloak Tracker III, I can no longer hold the claim that Cloak is overpowered whatsoever. Even though it can get annoying to be killed by cloaked campers, Cloak Tracker III pretty much puts my cloak is overpowered argument to rest. The rest of my whinging still stands. Anyone have news on an upcoming patch? Yes? No?

I was going to address some of your points as they appear grossly misinformed but after seeing how much you go on about "skill", it is clear to me that cod clones are not games for you. These games don't take any kind of skill other than maybe territorial control. You take only a handful of bullets to die, and you move painfully slow most of the time, so once clearly in somebodies sights, you are almost certain to die, no matter the other persons actual aiming skills.

So yeah, take this game for what it is or play twitch shooters instead.
