White Blood Omen

The city streets of High Rock were lovely in the night. They made him feel both alive and curious. What kind of demons from the shadows would awaken? He put his finger on his cheek where his fresh wound still bled. What was his father thinking sending him out with a cut like this? He may be only twelve, but he knows that this cut would not be very convincing. And neither would he be if he could not cry. The last time he wept tears was when he was a babe as that is what all babes do. Cry, poop, and sleep. Nothing more, and not much more of a thought than to survive like all humans. He wondered the alleyway alone to find the tavern that woman worked in and slept in. The Hearth Fire inn it was called.

She was nothing more than a woman who doted on a sweetheart boy with no mother. He smirked, he was more than that though she'd figure that out soon enough. He had to figure out how he would have her come to the egde of town, a cut would not convince her. Then a thought came into his mind, pulling back the linen shirt sleeve he stared at his naked bare arms. Pale, ghost white and thin.

"Bless the Painlovers, for in their suffering, we grow stronger," Remlius whispered to himself.

He felt the magic wrap around his hand, it was warm and inviting for fire was the gift of life and destruction. It was a holy symbol, or so that is what his father told him. He allowed the energy to surround and grow hotter, brighter. When it was enough he grasped his bare arm with his flaming hands. The pain of it all seized his body, burning, and stinging. It was so painful, but nothing he couldn't handle. Tears began to roll down his cheek in shock of such pain. At least now she would come. For mother needed new eyes and hers were the prettiest.

He walked into the Tavern though no one paid mind to the snow white, child that was like a ghost. He managed to slip past the advlts and found her room. Slowly opening the door to the tavern she was startled by the creaking of old wood. She looked at him. She was a woman in her late twenties, though she had a large bosom and a very curvy body. She was beautiful by the standards of many of the advlts, showing off her bare flesh.

"Please....help me," Remlius choked out.

"Remi what happened!" she said loudly.

"He tried to hurt me, he grabbed me with his hands when I tried to run. He put a knife up to my face and was going to carve me...like a pumpkin," he sobbed.

"We should get the guards," she said.

"No," Rem cried.

"No?" she asked.

"Please, he was...he was just mad. Surely he loves me. Please. Please just make him not mad," Rem said.

She looked at him, he could see the cogs working in here head. Would she figure it out or would she follow the words of a sweet boy? She nodded and ruffled his hair giving him a hug.

"It must be scary," she said, "All right I'll calm down your father, take me to your house."

"Thank you!" Rem said excitedly wiping away his tears.

He grabbed her hand and lead her. He was humming now, which he felt her hand tense up as he did so. She felt something was wrong, but it was to late as she was being dragged into the woods by a boy much smaller and younger than her.

"Rem, I don't feel comfortable out here," she said.

"That's okay," Rem said with a smile, "You really are stupid. Haahahahahaa. You just follow the sweet little innocent boy. What if he takes you out in the dark?"

"You're scaring me, this joke isn't fun any more," she stammered.

"My dad will be here soon, you just sit tight," Rem said.

She screamed, but there would be no one for miles. She was trapped in the darkness of the very forest he grew up in. Though what frightened her were the skeletal servants that raised from the ground to hold her down. Rem just extended out his hands and twirled a bit laughing.

"What could I do when waiting for him?" Rem asked himself, "I can't harm the eyes. No that wouldn't do. But what could I do? Maybe I should send ghostly whispers in your mind."

He cast from his hands and a light surrounded her head.

"Please....stop...Remi," she cried out.

He just smiled. It was good that she know he wasn't the sweet little boy who liked candy from the towns harlet. He heard the sound of a snapping twig and he cast fire into the trees. Illuminated by the fire was his father, with a hunchback, and wrinkly skin. He looked nearly as dead as his mothers corpses. He looked startled.

"I wouldn't think you'd try to roast me," his father said.

"Next time make yourself more noticeable, I captured her," Rem said with a smile.

"I'm very proud of you, all I need is the eyes," his father said, "Then you can do whatever you want with her. As I can see you're really interested in her flesh."

"My eyes....please....don't....please I'm scared," she whimpered.

His father took out his scalpel. He looked at the skeletal servants.

"Hold her still why don't you," his father said.

The skeletal servants held her down tightly and she screamed. Cried. His father grumbled.

"How am I to cut if your going to keep fussing about," his father said while green energy wrapped around his arm, "There you stay still and calm down."

She stopped moving and seemed to calmly obey whatever he said. Rem enjoyed watching his father work. One of these days he was going to be as powerful as his father. He always admired and enamored his work. He saw as his father inserted the blade into the socket.

"Boy my bag," his father said.

Rem nodded and walked over unhinging his father's bag from his belt. He saw an eye dangling by merely a vein. His father stuck the first eye into the bag. He watched as his father stuck the knife into the other. The lens burst and he watched as eye juice bursted out. It reminded him of an orange in some ways. His father put that in the bag.

"As I said, you can do whatever you want with her now. Kill her if you like, I'll be in my study don't bother me while I work," his father said.

His father walked off and allowed some water to form into his hand to put out the burning bush. Rem touched the woman's face as blood continued gushing out of her eye sockets. What could he do to alleviate her he wondered? He smiled and bent over her shoulder putting his lips close to her ear.

"I'll allow you to wonder the forest, blind, and bleeding out. You will never leave this place alive," Rem said, "You'll never get justice for what has done. I'll come back for your soul. I am not your sweet boy. "
