If you look at the Ayleid Ruins, they are marble. But White Gold Tower is grey. WTF? Ayleid tower , right? then why isnt it marble?

Because its a tower, its special and they decided to mix it up a little when building it. Honestly, what kind of question is this?

In case you didn't know, it is also over three eras old. In all likelihood, it lost its sheen after years of disuse.

The reason Imperial City is grey is because they built it that way White Gold Tower was built by the aylieds and is about 4 eras old its seen some were and tare since the Aylieds were wiped out.

It's not like Red Tower is actually red.

Good point. But there's a reason why Red Tower was called red. Heart, Blood, Lava.

Why is the White-Gold called White-Gold?

We know that Ayleid armor is gold in color, as were the Aurorans and Umaril in White-Gold Tower. The white may refer to the actual tower's color.

If Oblivion's radioactive bloom was playing on it a few miles distant(rather than cutting out to Lod), the name would be more apt.

But of course it's made of something else and of course it's white gold. Can't you feel yourself growing skin and healing scabs when you stand next to it, being dwarfed by a miniature railroad model of the universe? It glows, dude.

What color is white gold, people? Metallic and silver, correct? What color is silver, if you remove the lustre? Grey. NBD.

Given the naming conventions for Red Tower, I suspect that "White-Gold" may not actually refer to the alloy or a specific color.

It COULD, perhaps. Isn't it also called "Ada-Mantia tower?" Or is that Direnni tower? I haven't gotten them down pat yet.

=Adamantium Tower, IIRC

In which case it's a breath-takingly brilliant name change. Take a boring old description hijacked from D&D, relate to a Spanish epic as relates to individualism and Lorkhan and Mankar Camoran and there you get Ada-Mantia.

I wasn't exactly trying to say it's called white-gold because it's made of white gold. What you see above is simply a lore-explanation version of "drop it.". LOL. It's less rude to humor someone and give them a bs answer, only to let them figure out later, for themselves, that I was just jerking their chain since the question itself was kinda' sketchy.

You know the old addage. What kind of questions get you stupid answers?

Yep.
