Whiterun is too big!

Post » Fri Dec 09, 2011 2:58 pm

I liked the immersion, but 90% of the time is spent running around the countryside looking for things. Then when you are in the city, you have to talk to Avennici for your bounty (or whateever). All the points of interest are so far apart, it takes too much time. Then when you are outside going in, you have to walk all the way around to the front gate. Just a very time consuming city. It was amazing at first, but gameplay has really slowed down since moving there. Many of the big quests are not even in Whiterun.

I am level 9 and have the house in whiterun. Its feeling less like an RPG and more like the Sims.

If you're out the front and want to avoid walking all the way around the gates, just fast travel there. It'll place you just inside the gates. If you need to go to the other end near the Jarl or the Companions/Temple, fast travel to Dragon's Reach.

Yep lol. I understand that people can play a game as they damn well want to, but isn't the OP just missing the point of Skyrim?

Ahh, it's his choice!

THE WORLD IS TOO BIG, AND I HAVE TO TRAVEL!

This isn't TES, an open-world, massive combat-oriented RPG, this is Sims!

lol - play nicely! I agree with the amazement at his playstyle, but it's his choice. No need to go too far in for him!

The city is not to big. I feel all of the cities could be bigger. I would have liked to have them all filled with more content. I love the richness of the cities. I think you might be the only person who thinks any city in this game is to big.

Whiterun is like the smallest of the main cities next to Winterhold (which is only small because most of it broke off and fell into the sea).

I find every city/town in Skyrim too be pretty small (not to say that this is bad). But I also played MMORPGs for a long while.

I can sprint from the gates of Whiterun to the doors of Dragonreach in 15-20 seconds.

yeah, try the sprint button. If you're bold you can back it up with whirlwind sprint: the guards like to see Dovahkiin run!
