why does it seem i'm doing all the work for the companions since i'm the new Harbinger for the companions??

Well, after you've completed the side quests you're interested into, kiss them goodbye and you're done.

yeah they do seem to be repeating.

The usual prerequisite for a major sidequest, is to do a radiant to have it show up. Once you're done with these, there's no reason to keep with the radiants -except from when you've ran out of things to do and you're THAT bored
