21/Male

I started with Morrowind on Xbox I think in 2004-2005.

I played there at least 80 hours without further going that Bitter Coast and Ascadian Isles's regions :shocking:
I spent my time to marvel at this splendid game which is Morrowind, I spent also my time to kill and steal all the merchants :whistling:
:D

Then I had Oblivion in 2009 on PC.
I was of course disappointed! Thus I modded it, without never being able to really play game
Then I was registered in "The Brotherhood of the Translators", in order to translate english mods for Oblivion into french.

And at the beginning of year 2010 I bought myself Morrowind in french and english version.
And there there I did not stop to it modded without being able to play still
Then I started to also translate mods of Morrowind :user:

here, I am become again addict to Morrowind, I made addicted a friend again, and I make in kind make known Morrowind with everyone!

It will be necessary that I test Daggerfall, although textures frighten me.

Ah, one day the media will grasp that computer games aren't just played by kids anymore.
Actually, I was 18 before I ever touched a computer. I was thrilled by the whole 1 meg of core. (and it _was_ ferrite core). 'Hack' was great fun.

Nearly eighteen, male.
Started playing morrowind some 6 years ago, been modding for a while. Have made few small releases, but nothing important. Currently working on a mod, set by the book, I'm writing. Am eager to learn modelling and texturing.
Cheers! :celebration:

"Hack" was the greatest rpg ever made for the computer, until Morrowind came along. :) I literally spent thousands of hours on that game :D

23/f

Started modding a few years ago to fix things I didn't like in the game. I have yet to roll a new 'toon. Haven't been modding this summer; having fun playing games instead. I've got, like, 30 or 40 games I need to play, it's awful. :D

Started playing Morrowind on the PC when it first came out, but got stuck at some point. Bought the GotY about four years ago and played through it unmodded. Played TESIV unmodded, then needed community bug-fixes, and then I started using mods. Then I realized I was modding TESIV to be more like TESIII, so I decided to go back to TESIII. I have Daggerfall, but I'm waiting for DaggerXL's release before I play it.

First game I ever modded... hmm, might have been Heroes of Might & Magic 3 or Warcraft III. Warcraft III definitely had a more powerful world editor, and I really got into somewhat advanced overhauls with it. Nothing like the TD games, but creating new units, heroes, skills, and races to pick from. Sadly, all my maps have disappeared, I never uploaded them. In fact, I was so angry I had wasted an entire summer on one map, I think I ended up deleting it! D: I tweaked an Age of Wonders map, but its editing tool really isn't that powerful, and I kinda svcked at the game. I tried to use Silverfall's editor in order to see if I could fix all the horrible problems with the game, but the editor was confusing and the game has too many problems to be fixed by a mere mortal.

I played Rogue on a DECSystem-10 in college in the 70s. I usually starved to death on level 3 or 4. I also enjoyed playing another one called "dnd", though I've never seen any mention of it since then.

So cool to see some older people here :)

I'm male, 38. Been playing computer RPG's since 1984-85 sometime, Bard's Tale was the first RPG i played (at least the first RPG that I can remember).

I started modding MW ~10 months ago, it has been a really fun experience, but i'm taking a break from it for a while to play some games (currently playing Planescape: Torment again with some nice mods).

Being slightly younger, I cut my RPG teeth on DnD 2nd edition. But I actually played Sierra adventure games long before that. I was old enough to really enjoy them when they were in their heyday.

I tried getting my dad into Morrowind. When I told him about modding the first thing he said was, "So...I could make a new version of the original Zork!?"

36/m. I started out by playing Phantasie on a Commodore SX-64 (the "portable" version of the C-64). I started modding for Morrowind about 2 years(?) ago or so because I had played a few mods and was interested in how they worked. It's been an experience though, but I haven't been doing much modding here lately. I'm starting to get back into it and we'll see how it goes. :)

@Stuporstar: I also got started with the 2nd edition - I used to play the gold box series from SSI. Man I miss those games...

Actually, the "dnd" game I was talking about wasn't D&D the live stuff with books, but a computer game similar to rogue with dots and lines used to draw rooms on the CRT. You had to map it by hand and it had the annoying habit of teleporting you to who knows where. Maybe it existed only on DEC machines?

I liked the Zork games, especially the one (a later one, I forget the name) with the voice-mail system from hell, which was hilarious. I also liked the old Sierra adventure games, especially Gabriel Knight. Another favorite was Day of the Tentacle from LucasArts. Then one day came Diablo II and my gaming life was changed forever.

Ha ! There ya go ! I sort of jumped from pen and paper DnD to an Intellivision video cartridge DnD game that was so addictive . Then didn't touch games ( either PC or video ) for some years , until the advent of the incredible Ms. Lara Croft ! That and Japanese RPG's pretty much got me hooked . I have the old Zork games somewhere but never got around to play . Diablo 1 I had on Playstation 1 and played it to its unfortunate destruction ! I still crank up the PS2 for a bout of FF10 or FF12 but I am making a concerted effort to sort out West Watch ( my mod ) so that I can share it around . That , of course , all depends on whether my work load permits me the leisure time ! :nope:
Which isn't often .....
EDIT : Oh , StuporStar , I have to say that most of my DnD pen and paper playing was with the second edition . Lost interest when it became so expensive to keep up with the new release books etc ! Still have a lot of my old gear lying around including my half-elf fighter magic user character Ramage ! Had some fun with that guy !

^^We old farts have taken over! Mwahaha!

I remember my dad actually had a huge dot matrix printout of the Zork map that he did himself entirely in ASCII. He was obsessed with that game for years. I was a bit too young for text adventures at the time though. I loved Sierra and then LucasArts came around and adventure games got even better. I loved Monkey Island. I loved the Quest for Glory series from Sierra, because it was an adventure/RPG hybrid.

I also remember some horrible graphical text adventures, like Eric the Unready. These things were text adventures with a bare bones inventory screen and a single picture of the room you were standing in. Sometimes the view switched to whatever character you were speaking to. The problem was, there had already been tons of good adventure games out by Sierra at the time, so these kind of paled in comparison. Also, in Eric the Unready, the solution to every problem was an absolute stinker of a pun. I mean, they didn't even make any sense! This was back in the day where you could still base a game entirely off something like Monty Python references because it was assumed that the only ones playing PC games were PC nerds like my family. You know, because normal people just bought an Atari (or later, an NES). :P

34/m

Morrowind is my favorite game. Respect to bethesda.

Began playing SSI goldbox games like pool of radiance and curse of the azure bonds waayyy back. Played some hack-like rpg games "moria" and "omega" like forever ago, and I didn't catch the MW wave til it came out on xbox. After I got it for pc, and it had the CS it was ON!!!! But before the computer games, I played pnp dnd. I only started modding in the last year, tho; and have not done any released material yet, and won't anytime soon cuz I don't have a computer anymore (get online once n a while at sisters house).

Someday soon, SilentThief will be able to make a mod.... and then watch out!!!

ST
ps, I want to TC someday, but its hard to get that much time available with real life (work/family) stuff. When I think about that, I can't help but give a LOT more respect to bethesda.

phew... some ppl are much older than i'd have guessed...
I'm 24 / male.

I started modding morrowind in 2002. i played it about 4 weeks before i started to figure out how to use the CS (and became adicted to it).
It was the first game i modded and since then i tried to mod every single game i possess XD

*sigh* i remember the good old days when a friend of mine and me claimed Balmora as our private stronghold just to mod it beyond any recognition...
GMSTs? Dirty refferences? We didn't even know about that or how to make propper refferences/new items. so it happened that suddenly almost every single Bonelord on Morrowind was friendly, had a dialog and was labeled as "Anthrax the Destroyer", just because my friend altered the common bonelord instead of making a new one XD

Wow, I found the average age around here is older than I expected and that a lot of people are the opposite gender I thought.

I'm 20/m. I've yet to do any modding that I'd release (most of my modding has been to customize my companions and make personal tweaks for my characters), but off-and-on I'm working on a companion/quest mod. :)

Most of my mods are kept to myself, or are made as gifts to specific people. I thought about releasing more mods, but honestly, they're always tailored to fit very specific tastes.
Morrowind is very fun to change; more fun to mod than to actually play it at times :P It just depends on what I'm building - if it requires a lot of repetitive work, it's not a lot of fun to mod, but after the repetitive building is over with, it becomes entertaining again. Then some accidental change may occur, which actually turns out to be a pretty good idea! That builds modding creativity, which can result in some pretty interesting results.
