who are we?

Post » Wed Oct 13, 2010 1:55 pm

After browsing the morrowind modding forums, i got curious about the age group. not in the whole Tes foums, like the thread in TESgeneral descussion, but i wanted to see who was still modding this game, 20 year olds who played it in thier teens? teens themsleves? or der generations doing something creative for a game they play or just like to mod?

so i thought i'd make a thread to see who's who and how old.
sorry if this isn't allowed or anything, but i haven't seen one just for here, just to see what how old the modders are, and there genders.

so post in the poll, and if you want to post your story, how you began modding, how old you where when you began, and why you mod.

so hopefully we'll see some stastics :P

I'm not a modder, but I regularly play Morrowind and might get into some minor modding just because I like creating things, eventually. I've yet to get close to starting my modding obsession, but I'm a 15 year old male.

Wolli they are called dentures, not denchers...

Mostly just wanted to help some projects get finished so I taught myself how to do interiors and then it has gone from there.

I'm guessing it's short for Samir Al'Muhaada, which sounds more like a Middle Eastern terrorist. Who is this guy? I, for one, am worried.

26/male just started learning probably less than a year ago. i was a daggerfall kid and became a fan of the series. i've had morrowind for pc for years and never even used mods untill relatively recently, but would always come up with ideas for things i'd like to change, add, etc.... after i started using other people's mods, it was just a matter of time before i'd started making little tweaks. now i've got about 8 different projects that are entirely over ambitious for someone of my skill level and am slowly working toward turning them into something releasable.

I have two things two things say about them(these are only guesses I know nothing)
1.They thought this was a morrowind players thread.
and
2.Why would they say they are the 5-9 year olds? They would be ignored forever even when they are 20(on these forums)

As a twenty-something male, I was sure I would be in the majority... but at the moment the teenagers slightly outnumber us! I think that's pretty awesome; new, young people are still picking up Morrowind all the time. :^)

On the subject of the very young ones, a little brother of mine started playing Morrowind (and occasionally using my forum account on the Morrowind Summit, to my horror) when he was only six years old. I can't believe he's almost fifteen now, how the time flies!

I've often wondered why I mod this game... I don't play the game anymore, and I don't even use the mods I create once they are finished. I've tried quitting modding a few times, only to come back to it a few months after. So yeah, I don't know why I mod. I just keep getting drawn back into it! :o

I started modding morrowind in 2003 (I think, I'm not too sure now), I don't remember what my first attempt at modding was but I remember building a dwemer city on an island (never finished it, it was crap anyways :P).

29/male, Started getting into TES with the release of Morrowind but originally started modding (games in general) 2 years earlier with a game called Vampire the Masqurade: Redemption :)
