19-25, Female, first played Morrowind, been playing TES for about 10 8 years off and on.

Played TESIII when it first came out (borrowed it from my sister) but I didn't really appreciate the RPing aspects. About three years ago I bought the GotY edition and played through the game without any mods. Then I bought TESIV + expansions and played that. Now I'm modding (off and on) for TESIII.

I guess this makes me your male equivalent. But I got the game from my brother, got GotY earlier but stopped modding a long time ago. :)

22, male.

I heard of Morrowind through toonami when I was younger (Probably about 14-15), so I wanted to get it for computer. It sounded amazing to have a play world so huge that it could take days to get anywhere on foot. But when we got the game, our PC wasn't yet advanced enough to run it. So I spent my days reading the back of the box, reading the instruction manuel, and just waiting. But upon chance, I ended up searching through my dads games and found that he had the prequel to Morrowind, Daggerfall.

So by chance, I ended up playing Daggerfall first and was svcked into the lore of the series. Even when we finally got Morrowind running, I could never completely draw myself away from Daggerfall. So between both Elderscrolls games, I was hooked to the world of Tamriel, but patiently waiting for oblivion. I ended up playing Arena after Oblivion though.

Now that I have a new computer with dosbox, I have gone back to playing Daggerfall once more, and I split my time between Daggerfall and Oblivion.

22, female. I've only been playing (Oblivion) for a couple of years, and I hope one day to have enough money to buy a computer which will allow me to play Oblivion and Morrowind with mods. I got Morrowind on Xbox recently but seeing the forum discussions which say how great both games are when modded makes me want to wait until I'm able to play the PC version.

22/ female/ started with Morrowind/ I have been playing TES ever since it came out so.... god that's like 8? 9 years?

I heard about Morrowind on Toonami when I was quite young, 14 or 15 maybe, I can't really remember. I do remember the little spotlight they had on it though; the open world, the role playing, it was like a dream come true. I got it for the xbox and played the hell out of it. Then I got Oblivion the second it came out (literally, I got it at midnight) and have been playing that ever since. Two years ago I discovered the unbound joy that comes from the PC games with mods, and have been playing the PC modded versions of both Morrowind GOTY and Oblivion GOTY every day ever since then. Not kidding.... every day.

Ummm, my "job." I am an artist and student. I go to college for... Game Art and Design... so, video games= very important. So I do a lot... A LOT of gaming and TES is always near the top of my list for games to play.

Oh, I remember that review! I vagely recall Tom complaining that it took too long to travel from place to place.

Ah, the good old days. Not only when there was a Toonami, but Tonami actually played decent shows like ReBoot and Outlaw Star.

26 (almost 27 in August)/m/Morrowind/7 years playing

And people, I hope here in the near future to be a successful indie game producer....

Yes I do have a real job as an Electronics Engineering technician, degree from Purdue University, West LaFayette. However, I've been as of late unhappy with the field and have taken up teaching myself game programming, AI and game engine physics, and more. Have spent over a thousand dollars on books and even more thousands on my PC have been slowly progressing through them on my free time (much harder to do married, haha). Here's to hoping my hobby can be a success! :foodndrink:

Yeah, that was the one! I got bored and found the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=En5KML-sO4A on Youtube. I sure do miss those days too. I swear, the 90s had the best tv shows. And now they call stuff like chowder television. :banghead:

18/Male/Played Morrowind first at the age of 12

I heard about Morrowind on Toonami when I was quite young, 14 or 15 maybe, I can't really remember.

Hah, I still remember that as when I first heard about Morrowind too. I was probably around 10 or so. At that time I was big into EverQuest, and seeing that preview on Toonami got me excited with "Ooooh, another game with a big world, magic, and lots of different races to play as." But I was disheartened because I didn't own an Xbox to play it on. It took me a few years later to try it out at my best friend's house at his suggestion, and I fell in love with it the first time I tried it. I also learned from him that there was a version for PC, and I took it upon myself to buy it the very next day. That game has a certain charm that no other game will ever have for me.

It's unfortunate that Cartoon Network doesn't really have an audience of anime watchers and gamers anymore. That one review on Toonami seems to have hooked a good number of people in.

I'm 16, Male, when I went over to my friend's house a long time ago (I don't really talk to him anymore) he showed me Oblivion, but I forget if he actually let me play it or just showed it off, and he told me that I should have tried Morrowind also ( he had it too, but just showed me the case) because it had cooler helmets in it (mind you we were in fifth grade, so cool helmets were a plus in a game, lol). So I rented Morrowind from my local Blockbuster for my Xbox. So technically Oblivion was the first Elder Scrolls game I saw, and Morrowind was the first Elder Scrolls game I can remember playing. As for how long, even though I played Morrowind about 5 or 6 years ago, I never bought it for the Xbox at all, but I bought Oblivion for my 360 about 3 or 4 years ago, and have been playing it on and off since then.

Yeah, heh, I didn't actually notice that until I actually posted....
"you have entered the twilight zone of gamers, where your age group likes the same games and watched the same shows.....shows... shows..."
.... Crazy.
But that video you linked to..... makes me so happy and nostalgic you have no idea... :D

Uhm, before Morrowind I was a fanatic player of platformers and online rpgs. I was also really big into a fantastic game called Dungeon Siege to which I am still addicted to this very day. I watched Toonami fanatically every week day after school. I remember the line up even.... It was YuYu Hakusho, Ruroni Kenshin, DragonballZ and.... I think it was Tenchi muyo? Maybe. But, DragonballZ was the one that I always watched, without fail and the spotlight on Morrowind was played several times in between the commercials. So, that Christmas I got an xbox and Morrowind was pretty much the first game I got and the only one I played for about, oh, six months straight...
*sigh* I really miss Toonami.... and my xbox. RIP original xbox, you served me well and you will be missed. Died 2006.

I'm an 18 year old man. I started in 2002, when I was 12, with Morrowind. So I've been playing TES games for 8 years now.
Hey man, 18-12 isn't 8.

Exact same for me.

I didn't find these forums until around 2007 though, and I visited as a guest until I decided to join in 2009.

In which way? Surprised there are so many or surprised there are so few?

It's possible that the argumentative nature of this particular forum may alienate some female forum members - hence a portion of our female population may never see this thread and consequently not vote in this poll. I suspect that if this poll were taken in one of the mods forums the results would show a significantly higher percentage of females.
