Who are TES players?

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 12:16 pm

21 (soon to be 22)/male/1st game was oblivion, then oblivion with a lot of mods now morrowind with a lot of mods. Been playing for about 4 years. I'm currently studying to become electric engineer. I'm also from Greece (pretty hot here right now). Seems a good idea to also tell where are we from.

32 years, female, started out with Daggerfall, then Morrowind, finally Oblivion and still loving it. Playing for 5-10 years now.
I can only play when I'm on vacation but I love the time spending with TESIV.

Also, I tried other RPGs like Gothic 2, 3, Risen, but against TESO they svck. Especially I hate these full armor sets in Gothic which rather fit like "overalls" than armors.

True, but they are more kickass than any of the vanilla armors in TESIV. I love the heavy mercenary armor in Gothic 1, can't wait to see the Heavy Dragonhunter's Armor in Gothic 2. :D

17, Male, Played Morrowind first around 04. But didn't pick it up until 06 after I got Oblivion.
So, I've been playing regularly for four years now.

19 / M / Ob / 4 years or more, might even be more then 5. It started with Oblivion (as said), then I got Morrowind and both got me to love the Elder Scrolls games. After that Ive tried both Daggerfall and Arena but I havent spent as much time playing them. Though I must admit that I havent played much Elder Scrolls lately, but Im sure Ill get back into it some day.

25. Started with Oblivion two years ago, don't know why it took me so long to give this series a shot. I've played a lot of Morrowind recently and enjoyed it. Will play Daggerfall someday, looks special.

I'm 21 years old, male. I first played morrowind at a friend's house when I was like 14 or something. After that I was obsessed but I couldn't for the life of my find a store that stocked it! Even now I find that shocking. After a while I just forgot about it. Until recently when I remembered it's awsomeness and bought it online. I've only been seriously playing for less than a year.

55, male, no family. (Yeah, I know, get a life). ..got partway through Daggerfall, enjoyed it, but abaondoned it after a series of glitches. Stumbled upon Morrowind in '04 bundled with a new video card - found it had just about everything I was looking for in a RPG, decided to 'marry' it then and there, almost divorced it due to bugs, things gradually improved and now we're reconciled, had a brief fling w Oblivion; nice, but MW is my crack. Play daily. When I die, I will likely be found slumped over my keyboard with MW running.

Daggerfall is really rough by modern standards. Go in expecting to svck and die a whole lot before you get to anything special.

Anyway I'm 23 and I bet you can guess my gender. I've played Morrowind since highschool, possibly my single favorite game of all time. Played Oblivion, now I'm playing Daggerfall and it's pretty rough.

I am dismayed by the grossly unbalanced gender representation on this board. :sadvaultboy:

As for work, now I'm about to start studying video-game design.

Well, I am 17 (18 in a few months) and sadly Oblivion was the first TES game I played, merely around four years ago. As for my "job", I'm a student, or more specifically an art student, and will be for a few more years since I will continue studying at university.

As I mentioned, Oblivion was the first TES I played, for the simple reason that none - and I mean none - of my friends has ever been even a remote fan of TES games, so the first time I even heard about them was when a friend of mine showed me "this awesome RPG called Oblivion". And I was hooked. I later played Morrowind, which I enjoyed just as much. And no matter what direction Beth is going to take with TES:V I'm certain that I will play it to death when it is released in 2034, coinciding with Half-Life 2 Ep3.

Hopefully it will be TESV or VI or may be VII :)

I'm 13, male. Started played morrowind when I was 7 or 8 on PC, loved it so much that when my dad bought an xbox for when we were at his house, I got morrowind for the xbox. Also played oblivion but I like to play a bit of both as they are both amazing games, though I prefer morrowind.

34, Male, bought Daggerfall not long after it was released. I had just bought a new computer (with a Pentium 133mhz!!!) and had just finished beating Ultima 7: Serpent Isle. I needed a new fix and the cool metallic reflective cover of DF caught my eye. I loaded it up, started playing and DIED. Then died again, and again and again. I gave up and stuck it on the shelf for a couple of years. Restarted it in 1998, and got further, but I still really didn't like the game. Still don't. DF gets a lot of praise, but it is by FAR my least favorite ES game. Give me MW or OB (modded) any day.

I'm 34, male, I'm a A&E nurse. I started playing Morrowind when it came out for the old xbox. I remember just walking around a Hlaalu guard for about ten minutes, just staring at his bonemold armour. Then he turned to me and he said "Wealth beyond measure Outlander.' in his gravely voice, and it seemed so alien that it blew my mind. I've been hooked ever since. Playing Oblivion was like waking from a dream after Morrowind.

39/m/Morrowind/about 7, but it seems a lot longer! I'm a teacher.

When I was a young lad, I played a game called Alternate Reality and another called Dungeon Master. I liked how it was 1st person and had puzzles to solve. Kinda like D&D on the computer without your friends doing something stupid to get your character killed.

I didn't play another game on a computer until I was out of college (didn't have a computer or $). I had a friend help me build a computer and away I went to the store to buy a game that would make it seem like was actually in the world I was playing in... enter Morrowind. Boy did I ge lucky. There's so much crap out there, and I picked one of the best RPGs of all time (it was the game of the year edition)! I loved Oblivion when it first came out because of the gameplay and graphics, but I play Morrowind almost exclusively now... until ESV comes out.

26, male, first played Morrowind back in 2004 after a friend thought I might like it (I'm not a huge games player in general). I'm a hedge fund anolyst.

He was certainly right, as I think Morrowind is an amazing achievement and I have been playing it ever since. I have basically only upgraded computers in order to play it with more enhanced graphics, such as MGE.

Amazing game.

I thought Oblivion was a real disappointment. None of the depth that Morrowind had, and far too much exposition and hand holding. Morrowind didn't insult the player's intelligence and even now I find new things that add a new perspective on the world.

No other game has had me come back for more like Morrowind. I'm just looking forward to more releases from Tamriel Rebuilt.

There is an "official" poll in the community discussion section about age&gender for some time now and don't forget to vote there, too. It will bring long-term results. Since this poll is about to die,for all who have voted for the poll (wow!!! ~500 votes ) : Thank you :celebration: I can't believe females are only 10%... :shakehead:

What would happen if I was a 12 year old Tranny who signed up because I played Fallout 3, but decided to check out these forums to see if they were as busy?

I'm generally not surprised by the vote counts. Male, Morrowind being the first game, generally ages 13-22. Fits the gamer demographic pretty well, and hopefully hitting Bethesdas target audience.
