Who are TES players?

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 3:05 pm

I'm 20 years old, male, and my first game was Oblivion back in 2006, so I've only been playing for about 4 years. My favorite Elder Scrolls game, however, is Morrowind. As for my job...I'm a careworker at an assisted living facility for Alzheimer's patients.

I am really surprised by that result. I thought females and males could be equal or something like 40% to 60%...

I'm not actually. I think lots of women who play TES simply aren't on the forums or maybe just didn't read the poll but I was expecting a vast majority of men...

29/M

I bought my first x-box just to play morrowind, when everyone else I knew bought thier first x-box to play halo or halo 2.

I remember playing the game at a friends house the first time, thought the game was stupid, kept on getting killed by Cliff Racers. I didn't start liking the game until the next day (played it all night) when my friend kicked my off.

So all in all about 7 years later, still playing. Infact I held off buying a 360 until Oblivion came out, then when GOTY morrowind became compatable with the 360 went right back to playing just morrowind.

Seventeen, male. Technically played Daggerfall long ago back in the 90s, but I hadn't "officially" acquainted myself with the series as a whole until Morrowind. I'd consider that my first game.

21 male and I started when it came out.

Female (19 votes [9.64%])
Male (178 votes [90.36%])
I think there is a sort of festival that explains this, to a degree.

28/M/Arena. but I skipped DF completely. I was still in highschool, guessing around '96ish I borrowed a friends copy, that I never gave back
I might still have a game magazine from the 90s reviewing Arena...but i doubt it. Could still be in a box in my folks loft though...

Is Arena really only 15 years old? I could have sworn I was younger then 13 when I first picked up Arena and started playing...

Well, I think I was actually 16 at the time which would put it around 17 years ago. I said about since I'm not entirely sure. But the Arena manual that I have has a copyright date of 1993 - so 17 years ago, but as I recall, Wikipedia says the game was released in 1994. So 16-17 years ago. :)

46/m/OB/4

I took a long break from gaming. Last game I played before returning was Quake. :). I started back with HL2 which lead me to Dark Messiah (truly fun game). After DM I looked for something similar and found OB. I was a true OB fanantic but its been a year since I've played/modded.

27, technically female, unemployed teaching assistant, been playing since mid 2005, and it was either Arena or Morrowind that I played first, I honestly don't remember (there was only a couple of days between the 2), but I found the series because of the Oblivion hype.

In about a month going to turn 17 and playing TES games since I was 11 with my first game being Morrowind which raised my standards for games significantly. Not to mention got me into the RPG genre to this day.

At 54, and male, I'm not quite old enough to recall the Middle Ages firsthand......but close. My childhood memories include produce vendors with horse-drawn wagons and other such "antiquities".

Playing Morrowind for somewhere around 5-6 years. Saw DF before that, but didn't really "play" it.

Electronic Tech, mostly.
