I read somewhere that their storyline would be revealed in further trailers before the Arrival trailer was made available.

Has anyone found out who they are and what part in the story they play?

That would be kinda cool if that rumor was true. But i've also read a few places that they are only in the trailer as examples of of the alliances and had no stories outside the trailers. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
