Umm, language, um http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:The_36_Lessons_of_Vivec? I am sure much of that is embellished, but are you talking about the Pilgrimages?

I take it you mean the pilgrimage of the seven graces? Well you have to decided that for yourself because you are doing a religious pilgrimage and usually with religions it's not about the truth of their accounts but about the wisdom and lessons enclosed in them.

That aside, when you look at the Ministery of Truth, what do you think keeps it up there?

Eh, TES III's lack of computer physics, remember when we got excited about TES IV, "If you drop something it Actually falls!"
The Ministry of Truth would be sitting in the Sea of Ghosts were it in TES IV!

Wait is the ministry of truth the thing that every time i pass under it i feel it is going to fall on me?
better for ya

Yeah, isn't it the big rock child Vivec made with that Daedric Prince? And, when it crashes down, it causes Landfall or something? I don't see how it crashing onto the bottom coast of Vvardenfell is going to be apocalyptic; the rock isn't that large, and it isn't all the high up. Sure, it'll squish the Temple canton, but that's about it.

You are aware what a meteor that big would do IRL, right?

That's because of it's speed. Is it confirmed that it is Baar Dau which causes the Landfall? Otherwise it's more probable that it is Masser or Secunda (or another rogue moon from Oblivion).

It's what, 700 ft up? And it is mostly hollowed out. Yes, it would go THUD and squish the canton into the bedrock, the impact would displace the water and cause flooding; the physical impact would cause serious structural damage to the other cantons. Would it shroud Vvardenfell in a post-apocalyptic haze? I doubt it.

EDIT: M'Aiq, the Cosmology section at TIL mentions that Masser and Secunda are disintigrating -- like, parts are fading away. I don't think they are going to fall down...

A rock that size, hollow or not, would cause an incredible amount of destruction when impact occurred at meteor speeds. And Lie Rock retained its velocity.

Then it's either Baar Dau or another rogue moon. But paw-prints, what is Lie Rock?

Well, the "crap" you do in the Seven Graces is to commemorate the great deeds done by Vivec (some of which, such as the battle with Ruddy Man, are recounted in the Lessons of Vivec). So he's already done "crap" a lot tougher than the "crap" the Temple stewards ask you to do.

:stare: It retained its velocity? Really? I guess anything is possible with magick.

Why don't the Dunmer just make it all hollow? You know, scoop out all that pesky mass and put it somewhere where it'll do less damage when the Big Rock falls down? Less mass, less force. F = m * a

I love the people of Morrowind. I became a god to make their lives more comfortable and secure. I am most close to my faithful followers; I am literally in their hearts and minds

It takes a much bigger meteor than that to cause a catastrophe other than the possible destruction of Vivec City, a large tidal wave, and large amounts of dust in a land where Ashstorms are commonplace. I doubt it'd directly affect anything outside the Ascadian Isles and southern Azura's Coast.

Edit: I'll never get this whole "the good guys are evil and the bad guys are actually good" trend.
