Who to Blame for Crysis 2

Post » Wed Nov 10, 2010 7:50 am

Well I'm not going to go into detail about the faults or issues/quality with Crysis 2, because there are many.

Who would you put to blame for this awful (online anyway) sequel, or if you were to fault find where or who do your issues lye with?

Personally I do not find the game as good as I thought it would be but its not bad. Im not really happy with online gameplay, its nothing like crysis wars (and that was great) I'd rathered an updated Crysis Wars with new additions such as, extra game modes etc. Although heres my explaination for this.

Blame the Crytek UK studio for messing this up. I'm from the UK so im not bias to another region or anything.

I got to talk to the Crytek UK team on Xbox Live(who created the online play for this game), when speaking to them obviously they weren't allowed to talk much about the game technical n' so forths(this was pre-release) but i had asked them what platform they would be getting the game for, they said XBOX 360 mainly. So I went on asking questions, I questioned will there be circle jumping(build up speed mode momentum, curve as you jump like Crysis Wars), they questioned what that was. Astonished that they didn't know, I explained. The reply I got was that they had not really played the other Crysis games so they didn't know about this(yeah wtf).

I also asked another member of the team, and they said they had only played a little bit of the first Crysis games.

Really I cannot see how the Crytek UK Team expect to be able to make online for the 3rd game (If Crytek UK had not played the first 2 Crysis Games properly if at all).

I mean that just seems ridiculous to me.

Any comments?

It's Crytek's fault. People love to blame EA, and it's a fact that their influence on Crytek has been nothing but detrimental, but at the end of the day a publisher needs to have the balls to stand up for its product. PC version wasn't ready to be shipped, and should have stayed in development.

If so yes they do.

I believe, if the German Crytek Studio had created the online/multiplayer side of the game we'd have had a better game, Or Crytek′s Budapest studio.

Blame us PC gamers for buying Crysis and Crysis Warhead, giving Crytek the money needed to produce this ported POS, also known as Crysis 2.

no you idiots blame console retards who buy fps and such on a console. They ruined it mostly for us true FPS gamers. CoD was once a true PC game but then they ruined it with stupid consoles so as any other FPS like bad company 2 its still great but it still svcks because its made for console... so BLAME CONSOLES because theyre dumb stupid and did i say dumb?

Crytek simply saved money and didn't make 2 different versions for sh1tbox and for PC
Greedy is bad Crytek. you save today, but tomorrow you will loose. when u decide to make adon to crysis or next part of the game - not matter what exactly. everyone who frustrates here right now will think twice before spend money for this instead of simply downloading from your "lovely" torrents..

Cheer up guys we can torrent Crysis 3 when it comes out... XD someone will leak the **** up version so we'll know again that the game is for console-tards... instantly hands down install source and start learning bunny hopping and knifing :)

IMO we should have seen this coming with the leaked version to which some idiot said " its like a bad ugly version that we didn't want you all to see" damn straight... we shouldn't have seen this at all should have just downloaded the leaked buggy version and left it at that, coz great or not lets face it the launch product of crysis whether 1 or 2 was always a buggy release :)

TORRENTS FTW!! Battlefield 3 ftw too

I say it's PC gamer's fault. If Crytek didn't make a difference, If we did not fan and support it or buy it's games, then Crytek would still have to make a difference or dissolve. We got the **** sequel, thanks to supporting Crytek for their great games, supporting them from a sweat shop to a brand-name that can make money by selling half-assed spinoffs to masses.

Good point, your right when companies like that do get popular they can usually sell anything that has their name on it. In my opinion Crysis 2 shouldn't have had "Crysis" in its name, it feels totally different, even Prophet kills himself in the 2nd(i think) cut scene, he's had enough.

Ignoring the fact you called the creator the publisher... A team of individuals needs to follow a business schedule for the yearly quarters. This is imposed on them by EA. So they push the game out at THEIR will. It seems you're partially aware of this. It doesn't seem you realize how big of influence a publisher is to the designers. They need the money and support from them or there is NO game. So they cannot "have balls" and stand up for it. They can protest the deadline but it isn't up to them ultimately. No matter what YOU think, it doesn't matter. What matters is what EA thinks. If you don't put the blame where it belongs, EA will never change.

Are you being serious? Because if you are that's probably the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Consoles kill good game ideas? Are you 5 years old?

Actually OP, the blame all goes to Microshaft(microsoft), because if not for those parasites, the PC version would most assuredly be DX11. FULLSTOP!
