Who's canceling their pre-order?

Post » Thu Jun 02, 2011 7:24 pm

Hahaha, thats true. Except its also true about 85% of people that play fps games "think they're better than everyone else".

here is why people are angry. Crysis 1 set a benchmark for pc's and pc players deserve better than what is being shown right now. 2nd Crytek has been caught bluffing often. Remember them saying they are woking the best on ps3 compared to the xbox? We saw how that went and ps3 players got a half assed demo. They also deserve to be angry. A tird set (Nano edition buyers) aslo deserve to be angry at crytek after seeing what happened to the original concept of the backpack. Guess what? I fall into all of those categories :( BUT I STILL HAVE FAITH IN CRYTEK :) please dont let me down.

ps grammar, spelling douches this is the internet for god's sake. I am not writing a newspaper report or headline or review or any other crap stop being douches about it its a forum and noone cares as long as it can be understood ;)

Got it pre ordered still because I'll be paying a total of $26.98 due to store credit with Amazon.
That's my way of sticking it to Crytek & EA by not giving them the other $30 lol buying PS3 version.

Thats all very true and thats the problem; Crytek bluffed and half assed their way to this day and will keep doing it till the game comes out. I am not really angry myself, well not particularly but instead very disappointed. I have seen this happen to soo many games where they had potential but the devs just didn't care enough to give it that last push that would make it a great game. :/

I never preorder games. Probably because I never get excited enough for any game to the point that I have to pay up-front. But yes, I probably will get this game :)

im happy with the demo, but not 100%, there are still things that they need to fix, beside my pre-order is on nano edition, been a crysis fan since first ones, no way im not going to cancel the sequel to it. the story line is what im looking foward to. i assumed that most people who think of canceling are just for multiplayer, in case you dont know, single player story line is there too.

All the arguments I read speaking against it are not convincing at all for me, my preorder still stands as it is.

a.) No DirectX 11: I'm sorry but if the DirectX 11 was the reason you didn't wanna buy it then that is somewhat pathetic, there is more to Crysis 2 then just it's graphics. (although it's also still unconfirmed if we get day 1 patch, since you guys go it somewhat like day -3)
b.) No Sandbox at release: Guess what, it's still coming. And theres other stuff on the DVD you can spend your time with until that.
c.) No customization: Doesn't really bother me that much at the moment, and for people who really need it theres still the cfg.
d.) Then we have the general: "It's crappy console port" which usually shows up, when no other arguments come up.

Yeah which we will have to probably pay for. When a game goes multiplatform it brings DLC with it.

1. Crytek doesn't "owe" anyone. I hate it when gamers think devs "owe" them something. Its just stupid.
2. When they said that statement, it was April of 2010. They said "At the moment, we're getting slightly more performance from PS3 compared to 360."
Key word - "At the moment". Obviously almost a whole year later that can change drastically. Especially when xbox is easier to program for than the PS3 (= easier to optimize within that years gap).
3. PS3 demo was an old build. It was already stated by Tom in a forum but everyone called him a liar...
PS3 does look the exact same as xbox
Here is what PS3 looks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svKUhYXZoHI
Here is what xbox looks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JdJVr_q2MVM
But no one is going to even comment on this which brings me to
4. Basically everyone on this forum is a pessimistic troll. There. I said it. There are plenty of reasonable threads that go through this forum which explain the situation but people seem to completely ignore it and only complain about not having any info. If you do go to that topic where Tom explains that the PS3 demo was an old build you will see that probably only one person actually believed him. Everyone else told him to skrew off and that he was lying. But I guess thats what I have to expect in gamers. Which is also one reason why I never hang out with them in real life. For the most part, gamers are usually morons who like to complain about things they have no real knowledge on. They cant just enjoy something for what it is like normal people. They have to always feel like someone owes them something or that they are better than someone else because they put in a little extra money into something which doesn't show their superiority in life at all.
\end rant

If you'd have bothered reading the rest of the OP, nitwit, you'd have noticed that the .cfg doesn't work. The OP listed among the commands in it "r_displayInfo = 1". Which, if the file would have any impact on the game, would plant several rather noticeable lines of white text detailing game performance in the upper right corner of the screen.

That's going besides the point that even goddamn Star Wars: The Force Unleashed had goddamn advanced graphics options. If this isn't a sign of a game designed for the 360 (it has way too many issues on the PS3), and then barely adjusted to work on a PC, I don't know what is.

I canceled my pre-order (on PC).
I expect to learn more about the final version. (directX11, dedicaced server...)
I do not like the new gameplay.
And graphically it's nothing so special.

Should be an option like this:
I didn't even preordered it.
.
Personally I'm dissapointed with what they made with Crysis 2. Limitations everywhere. Attachments are limited in some weapons (no assault or sniper scope in the SCARAB, no sniper scope in the SCAR or Grendel, no iron sights in the DSG1), Select Fire only available without underbarrel attachments, global preset graphics configs (Motion blur made the demo unplayable for me. Too much blur unable to be removed even in "gamer"), no developer console, not able to host a local/internet MP game, 12 player limit, no sandbox3 confirmed.

I won't buy this game. Not even download it 4 free. I'm really disappointed. And it's too late for Crytek to make any changes.

Personally im talking about the problem with all the demos not just the ps3. And if you have not realized the fact that the ps3 demo looks exactly the same as the xbox 360 IS a problem. The ps3 due to its blueray capability should look better. I mean the sound is indeed better and the violin playing at the begining of a match is just wonderful but the graphics themselves are still unfined and blurry as compared to the xbox 360 and in no way shape or form should that happen. That just shows lack of maitinance on the ps3 which is not fair to ps3 users that they get a crappier product when they are paying the same amount as PC and xbox 360.

I do know there is a story mode and I usually play only the story mode. Im gonna be truthful here, when it comes to multiplayer im not that great, so I play the story (which still doesn't excuse all the problems). The problem with the MP is the fact that usually the MP and story mode are often connected in similar ways such as the ones that are being discussed: radar, health, air stomp, graphics, gun power, etc.

Also, Crysis 2 graphics are obviously much worse than Crysis 1 graphics.
Totally agree with you. Crysis 2 has no match to crysis 1 graphics!

i think my post was edited when you were typing your posts ^.^ , i added something and i hope you can see my point a little bit

yeah I understand you guys wanting the best from your machines but the point we are trying to make is that PC players never really care about the consoles. what about the guy that cant afford a PC for gaming yet still wants to play a great game? is it right to deny him a quality console game so that PC players can have exactly what they want?

what people don't understand is that everyone has to make compromises and give up somethings nut what I have found over years is that PC gamers are usually not willing to do that and want the game made to their liking at the cost of the console gamers who also deserve a quality game, after all our money is just as good as PC gamer's.

you guy really miss the point.

For several years pc games have been dumbdowned to fit xbox level. We are the ones who are constantly making concessions so u can enjoy half the experience we would have now !

How about if games were now only focused on wii and you'd have to play at this level of quality for a few years. Wouldn't you be angry ?

Fact is that we want you to have a good game, but we ask for developpers to have graphic options that allow us to go from very low quality to very high quality. To those who can't max the game, go for medium settings, others would be very high. xbox should be in medium/low considering the gap in hardware generation.

That's what we are pissed about.

Definitely keeping my pre-order. Why?

The multiplayer.... It is easily the best FPS experience I've had in a very, very long time, I played it on the PC multiplayer demo and like I said; in my opinion it is amazing. I seriously pre-ordered it JUST for the multiplayer. I will play the campaign, but the multiplayer is my reason for buying.

I don't understand all the moaning and biching about this game... I really don't, people keep saying its sub-par graphics on the PC? What the **** are you smoking? The graphics are really good. In what way would the graphics have to change in order to go from what it is now, to what people consider good? This has to be one of the best looking games in existence at this point in time and people are whining like biches about it.

The crying about the single player might be justified, I haven't played it yet so I don't know, I guess we'll see. The whining about the multiplayer however is total BS.

I came to a conclusion after watching tons of crysis 2 multiplayer demo videos on youtube. It seems like every person who svcks ass at the game is ripping on it, and everyone who doesn't svck at it thinks its fantastic, go figure.

I will not buy a crappy console port, and us PC gamers should not be conformists, so the game developers are making millions with console ports shipped directly to the PC, with only slight improvements.

And my answer to the survey is a clear and resounding YES, of course I canceled the pre-order.

Why is it that you feel the need to describe console owners as ignorant?? These forums are for us ALL to discuss OUR views and reactions we had to a game that we AS INDIVIDUALS are playing. As the owner of both PS3 and Xbox I can honestly say whatever platform I decide to buy this game on, I will enjoy every bit of it. I'm sorry that you're not happy with the PC version but at the same time, I DON'T CARE what the PC version is like as I won't ever be playing it. I dont see that as ignorance, its just common sense, the same way you wouldn't care if the PC version was amazing and the console versions were awful
