Who created Better Item v2.0

Post » Fri Mar 12, 2010 11:12 pm

I recently downloaded http://www.fullrest.ru/plugins/betters/morrowind/Better_Item_pack_two.html but can't find it anymore. Does anyone know where I can download it? Was this replacer made by a russian guy I really love too know who assembled/created this great and big collection. I did not remember it has a readme in english. I whould really love too be able too read the readme file. It's not in russian and I have tried too translate it with google with no lock. I whould be very happy if someone here is able too translate it too english.
And more detail information about this mod will also be highly appreciated as I'm will be working on getting premission too submit it too PES on gamespy or TES.NEXUS.

HedgeHog-12 created this mod, autor of Better Armor series. Not alone, though; in this pack included some works of other authors, tweaked by HedgeHog.

Yes, for a moment there is no english readme of this.
But as I remember, there are nothing remarkable in readme - just installation instructions and credits.

I made only some meshes, and also tweaked a few. Most part of work did HedgeHog-12.

Thank you soo much Deathruler for the screenshot link. What do you think if I upload this amazing mesh/texture pack too TES.NEXUS for a start and use some of the best screenshots? But I need at least the credits from the readme before I feel okay too do such thing. I think the readme is in Czech.
http://www.mediafire.com/?myejywrexig How do I read/translate this?

Thank you soo much Deathruler for the screenshot link.
You are welcome, heh.
By the way, if you have seen Azura statue, it wasn't included into Better Item, HedgeHog left screens there only as joke.

Personally I think it will be nice.

I think the readme is in Czech.

Not Czech, readme is in Russian (incidentally, Czech language don't use cyrillic letters). Hmm... I tried to translate it, but I don't sure, that my translation is much better google machine.

Better Item 2.01

It seems to be united pack of Morrowind knick-knack improvements as well as built from scratch version. Unlike to first Better Item pack, which changed only most notable items, this pack replaces almost everything, from ingredients to books and light sources. In other words, replaced practically all what you can pick up.

Installation

Place "BI_2_0_Uninstal.bat" into your Morrowind directory.
Extract "Textures" and "Meshes" folders from archive to "Morrowind\Data Files"; press "Yes to all" when notification appears.

Uninstallation

Run "BI_2_0_Uninstal.bat" and for completion of all operations. All files will be copied to "Morrowind\uninstallBI", you can just delete this folder.

How to play

"New look through an old slit".
Just load any savegame (or start a new game) and take a walk across the Morrowind.

Authors:
Gatherers and modelers are HedgeHog-12 and Deathruler.

Books from the BetterBooks by Darrell William, a little bit improved and optimized.
Scrolls and notes are mostly by HedgeHog-12, some models left from Better Books.
Silverware items from the Silverware Enhancer by Ghostnull, the meshes are improved with bump-mapping.
Dwemeri artifacts are by HedgeHog-12.
Ingredients almost completely remaked by Deathruler and HedgeHog-12.
Picklocks, repair hammers, probes and alchemy apparatus are by HedgeHog-12.
Soulgems are by HedgeHog-12.
Kitchenware are by HedgeHog-12 (except some silver and ceramic dishes).
Glass goblets and bottles are from Misc Items Replacer by Qarl, improved with bump-mapping.

Damn, I was just hoping too be able too see and download all those great screenshots, but now the link seems too be dead. Maybe it will be back tomorrow I really hope so.

EDIT: New link for the screenshots folder: http://beta.fullrest.ru/ej-12/Scrins/BI_2.0/ (100+)
Btw http://tesall.ru/files/authors/ej-12/?page=2#better-items-ii is an alternate download place if www.fullrest.ru is down as it was toonight.

It' s a cool, pluginless Texture Replacer. In my load order it's somwhere after VisualPack Combined but before all the Connary textures.
It's definitely worth a closer look. If you decide to use it i recomend to delete "Meshes\m\Misc_mortarpestle_A_01.nif" because it's related
to "_base_inim01.dds" texture wich is missing and it's less work to delete it than to choose and relink another texture to the nif.

At this moment http://beta.fullrest.ru/ej-12/Scrins/BI_2.0/ is actual, but it can go offline for a short time, or change URL.

Here is another link: http://forum.tesall.ru/ej/Scrins/BI_2.0/

Hmm. Where did you download it, from TesAll or from FullRest site? Was it's version labeled as 2.0 or 2.01? Maybe it was corrected, but missed in one of archives.

I downloaded it from http://tesall.ru/files/authors/ej-12/?page=2#better-items-ii and it's Version 2.0, i've read about 2.01
but couldn't find it aywhere. My prob is that i can't read a single word russian and use google translate for websites to help me out. There are more little bugs
in the 2.0 version. For the Mesh "Furn_Ashl_Bugbowl_02.nif" and "Furn_Ashl_Bugbowl_03.nif" textures are missing, i think it was _ref_039 and _ref_37-2
And one of the multilayer textures (forgot the name) deied to be deleted, that caused errors in using Wyre Mashs intaller function.
If you have a valid link to v2.01 i'll try if it's been fixed. Because besides this little bugs it's a awesome Misc item replacer, pluginfree, reflection maped,
it even replaces openfire flames with smoke effekt :)

Thanks for the info Deathruler and the additional links. Now I'm off archiving those screenshots :lightbulb:

EDIT: By the way Deathruler what is the difference between the version from Fullrest.ru and the one at TesAll.ru. The TesAll version seems too contain alot more meshes and textures. Especially I have noted some meshes for Bloodmoon items only in the Better Item file from Fullrest. Will it be enough just too save the version from. Is this version the most recent version (v2.01)? I'm a little confused.

Don't know if you allready use it, with the https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/3404 PlugIn for Firefox you have the pics archived within two clicks.

/edit: I found 2.01 on Fullrest and all problems seem to be solved, even a unistall.bat have been added.

@Stacet: Don't take it personal but you have to read more carefull. On both sites tesall and fullrest is v1.0 with about 22MB,
on tesall you find http://translate.google.de/translate?js=y&prev=_t&hl=de&ie=UTF-8&layout=1&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Ftesall.ru%2Ffiles%2Fauthors%2Fej-12%2F%3Fpage%3D2%23better-items-ii&sl=ru&tl=en which is a little buggy and on fullrest you find http://www.fullrest.ru/archive/plugins/betters/morrowind/BetterItem%202.01.7z with the problems fixed, both around 45MB.

Thank you silberfisch for opening my eyes  . I have now downloaded all three version in different folders. Now I known exactly with is version 2.01 and which one I'll be using for my examination and tests in-game.
Some of those objects really looks awesome!

Well, in general BI 2.01 is just a repacked version of BI 2.0, were missing textures were added, and unused ones were removed. Also some meshes there were fixed, as well as a few new ones added (if I remember correctly, it's swirlwood furniture and some Bloodmoon misc items).
So, BI 2.01 is really more recent and less buggy version, heh.

Thanks Deathruler for your informative reply. If someone ask for Item replacer I'll remember too recommend it as think it really deserve it. I'll also remember too exclude the screenshots with the statue should I ever use some of those fine images anywhere else.
