Who did you side with in The Pitt?

Hey everyone

I just finished going through The Pitt, and I was wondering which side of the conflict you decided to support in the end and why?

My characters sided with each one. My 'Good' Character sided with Wernher, and my evil one sided with Ashur. Personally, I don't think there is a 'good' choice to this DLC, only different shades of grey. I don't like either option, but Ashur admitted that he didn't like that he needs slaves, but at least he will release them when He's finished rebuilding the city and give them the cure when it's finished (at least that's what he's said).

After seeing how the Werhner feels about the kid, I don't like siding with the Slaves anymore. But I still do as I can't stand slavery.

Needs of many outweight the desires of few.

I went with the slaves.

Ashur actually works towards teh needs of many.

Helping the slaves would be the desire of the few.

Then again, it was quite some time since I played The Pitt, I might be remembering it wrong

Even so, Ashur works towards establishing industrialization in the eastern coast, helping a social structure form along with a kind of government with a goal as well as aid the people of The Pitt by curing whatever disease turns them into Wildmen and Trogs.

Wherner? All he wanted to do was to cure the disease, nothing else. He has no plans or ideas of structure after the people are cured, hell the machinery might even break down because the people who understood how it worked (Slavers and Ashur) are gone.

Ashur is working towards the needs of many, his slavers, his slaves, the east coast and civilized communities as well as outlaws; either eat the seeds to still your hunger of today or plant the seeds so they can grow into something more fullfilling for the future.

Wherner is the one who works towards the desires of few, caring only for the short-term goal of saving the slaves; [censored] the future, all that matters is today.

(I also side with the Legion in New Vegas. :D )

But are the slaves actually the Many, or are they in fact the Few compared to the future generations Ashur may be able to save? None of the slaves seem educated enough to actually go about synthesizing a cure to prevent them from becoming Trogs. Werhner seems to want to cure the disease, but I doubt his abilities.

Neither do I, but I find myself doubting the stability and freedom that will be found in Werhner's Pitt. I fear that if the Pitt doesn't collapse on itself without Ashur acting as its Atlas, the slaves are either just going to become just as bad their old oppressors or they'll just be changing the person who is holding their leashes.

I just couldn't see kidnapping an innocent child to be used as some political pawn. A baby belongs with it's mother, and her and Ashur's ultimate motives were at least honourable. And once I saw the bigger picture, I no longer trusted Wernher's motives. He just seemed far too selfish in comparison to what Ashur was trying to accomplish.

Ashur.

Wehner is just using the player for revenge. Granted, we're not given much proof in that regards. BUT! Werhner does send you off for ransom job, then decides to change the details of the job after you get the kid. True colors right there- get what he wants, and then starts killing when the details become a liability. And if you presuade him to leave without fighting, he actually says "[censored] the slaves" in his ending speech.

Clearly, he never cared for the slaves, otherwise he wouldn't have said that.

At least Ashur is doing what he honestly thinks is best, and is fairly straightforward about it. Too bad it seems like he just can't get it through to the Raiders...

Werhner is just some power hungry fool who tried overthrowing Ashur once, failed, and now seeks revenge on him and the city. I highly doubt his liberation of the slaves will do any true good for the Pitt itself. Although both Werhner and Ashur seek a cure for TDC (who doesn't), it is Ashur who seeks to bring order and a true future for the Pitt, despite having to use slaves. Even then though, do I believe the use of slaves will lead to a better future rather than it once was before Ashur rose to power.
