This is exactly why I hate the fact they put the power armor so early on . Sure, power armor should feel empowering and awesome but that early in a game it totally blows any sense of fear, wonder and vulnerability. Beth really *really* dropped the ball on trying to introduce that and settlement building so early on. Just a lazy AAA game gimmick of forcing the new feature tutorials in early. I would give my right arm for a mod that forced that [censored] to the far side of the map or made it only unlock at level 20+. The fact they tried to 'balance' this by making power armor as easy to break as china plates and run off of infuriatingly weak batteries didn't help this, it just ruined the fun of power armor as well as the immersion. (Also, whilst I love the idea of a HUD in the visor they really made a [censored] one.)
I find myself gravitating towards Power Armor this time. In the past I never used it, I used to just sell it. I just got my second set of armor and think I'm just going to keep using it. I also really like energy weapons this time too. In FO3 and NV I never used Energy Weapons.
I am doing the exact opposite.
After the first quest, I parked the armor in Sanctuary and have still not used it 30 hours later. (I do keep it upgraded though)
If possible, I plan to not use it again, ever. Don't know if it's possible (I don't know if certain quests require it, for example); but I intend to try.
I may use it towards the end game but I prefer to use normal armor or every day wear.
i star using it around level 15 just bc it was there and i was like yeah lets do it, i get own alot, some weak enemies i will destroy but the legendary or the Alphas i get own (still using the T-45).
I really never OP on cores, i dont know why, i normally i have 2 or 3. What i find super stressful actually is ammo i been low on ammo since the star.
My second character is Power Armor only. I don't 200 cores but I do have around 50(cores last a long time now that my core last 60% longer)
PA makes the game insanely easier and isn't even remotely a hassle to keep up. It's almost calls for a modder to buff up the regular armor since how obscene the difference is.
