Who's Drelas?

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 11:45 pm

Anyone of you knows him, he has a cottage near Morthal and Rorikstead, I accidentally found his while on my way to Solitude from Whiterun and I went inside his cottage. Then, he suddenly attacked me! So I killed him, and when I searched the house there's not even a journal or something that can tell who the hell is he???

So can anyone tell me if he has a quest or story or something??

Drelas is a http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Dunmer mage who lives alone in his http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Drelas%27_Cottage south of http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Morthal, on the other side of a mountain. Drelas is not too prone to conversation; if you enter his cottage, he attacks on sight with powerful magical attacks and a random dagger. He wears a random magical robe and a pair of boots, and has an assortment of random magical items such as spell tomes and alchemy ingredients.
His house contains an alchemy lab and arcane enchanter, as well as a number of alchemical ingredients scattered about, including a nirnroot.

At least you know it wasnt your breath...

Drelas is one of the few NPCs in Skyrim who have a realistic reaction to the PC suddenly waltzing through their front door unannounced.

According to UESP, Drelas' Cottage is one of the random locations to recover Meridia's beacon during the quest The Break of Dawn. If his cottage is randomly selected to be the location for the beacon, it would imply that Drelas removed it from Meridia's shrine.

I dunno, if someone was to walk through my front door unannounced... Well, I keep it locked so I'd assume they were hostile. Most of these NPCs don't even have front doors, so you'd think they would at least ask "Can I help you with something?" before breaking out the weaponry.

Don't know about you but I don't tend to try and murder people who walk into my home, and if they were as armed as the Dovahkiin my plan would be to run for the hills.

A pity that all his stuff is flagged as "stolen". Don't understand why.

Still, his house is useful for echanting if you use Breezehome in Whiterun as you main base, as it hasn't got an altar.

It's because he has a panic disorder.
