Who else is a bit annoyed?

Post » Mon Oct 18, 2010 8:17 pm

Okay, I'm thinking I can't be the only one here whose a little peeved at this. But as we all know, us Brits get the game 2 or 3 days later than everyone else.... this upsets me quite a bit. And to be honest, I think Brink is the first game that it ever has. But since I've been talking to people on here and stuff, and realised the great community that seems to be following Brink as much as I have, it kinda svcks that I'll get it 3 days later than my American amigos.

I know the obvious reasons why its happened and stuff, just kinda wanted a bit of a vent, and to see what other people thought?

I guess the fact SD are British kinda put salt in the wound.

It's quite common for games to release on different dates. Usually it's only a few days for western releases (US first, everyone else later). But if you're into Asian games, you'd sometimes have to wait months or import the game.

I'm more annoyed by repetitive threads.

I think Brink is the first game that it ever has.

About 98% of games released are released on the Tuesday in the US, and on the Friday in the UK.

get ready for the whole its because or street dates and the publisher blah blah bs XD , i dont buy it
heres why

Splash Damage Located in London , England
Bethseda Softworks Located in Maryland ,America

So the game comes out 3 days later because of the publisher?....hmm

Elder scrolls skyrim world wide release date is a tuesday published by the exact same guys but made in america, amazing huh? so how come a game developed in The USA And Published there can be released in the UK And worldwide on the same date? , but a game published by the same people but developed in the UK cant? , i find it all laughable but it seems common these days , i read the same stuff with KZ3 , that was made in holland but they got it 3 days after america too :)

Ahh I know you're reading me wrong, I know pretty much all games are released in the US first, just Brink is the first one I've been annoyed about for doing it. And Revoluzzer, I genuinely don't know if that was a general statement or aimed at me. But I don't think every time someone has an opinion they have to search for it and post on a dead thread.

I think people get too worked up about repeated threads, but 'eck, thats just me.

also there's nothing on tv from thursday to sunday night.

it's simple and silly. the traditional pay date in north america is tuesday (10 may) and in europe its friday (13 may)
all big releases is in these days, all of the bigger release products are released in tuesday in america and fridays in europe.
correct me if im wrong and tell me the correct answer, im 99% that im corrct though

You probably are mate, and I weren't really disputing the reasons behind it. Just stating that this is the first time I've been annoyed about it. For pretty decent reasons I think.

Still, I wish they had figured out some kind of 'pre-release' for all us out of the US. Something like those who pre-ordered before a certain date get the game on the 10th maybe?

Flawed I know, but I'm sure something like that could work pretty well for future releases.

A system is a system. We are all excited, but patience is a virtue. In a few weeks time, the release date difference won't even effect much as you grind through the game as often as you please. Go outside, play a different video game (or similar to hone on your FPS skills), watch a movie, chat with friends or do something new! Keep yourself occupied. By then, your release date will show up sooner and you'll never even realize it.

At least you weren't one of the people who got excited by brink 18 months ago. They had to wait out two separate 6 month delays. I luckily only had to wait out one of them.

The should just do worldwide releases for all major games, because Europe's days start sooner.
I remember playing Halo Reach 9 hours before the US.

I remember... Reach

Awesome pun, "convicts".

It's not a pun. It's a joke (that I'm surprised he got away with actually) that is funny because nearly every white Australian is the descendant of a convict - us Brits deported people for stealing apples and petty stuff like that.

Oh the soft tall tailed woes of delays and heartbreaks. But alas! The date is upon us. Looming ever so near. Arms reach as they say in the motherland!
Until the next video game we contemplate. Ever so with anticipation. Quote the raven, nevermore.

You also have to pay twice as much which is really dumb. They probably release at different times because of shipping or something.

I'm sure if they had the means, they would have released everywhere at the same time. When they moved the release up a week I was very impressed.
