Who else is eager for the books of lore? Ancient Histories o

Post » Thu Aug 26, 2010 2:17 am

The lore learned among you know of what I speak. The Books. The Knowledge. The Lore. Some of it innacurate, but some of it nigh on to indisputable.

The inner thoughts of Dremora lords. . .

The hostile relations between Aureal Daedra and Mazkan Daedra. . .

The Great Queen Barenziah, pregnant at 17 by the complicated Emperor TIber Septim. . . and tragically forced to terminate that pregnancy by the will of that same Emperor. . .

Commentaries on The WIld Elves, and the continuing role of regional Aylied Kings even after the Fall of Whitegold Tower to the Alessian rebels. . .

and lore and lore and lore.

I love it. The histories and other tales are well written and fascinating and so enrich the world. I cannot wait for the new information to be found via ingame books in Skyrim. I hope it is even more elucidating about all my favourite topics, from the interelations and histories of the varied races of Lesser Daedra, to texts on magic, an Ayleids, on Falmer. . . the licentious truths of the famous heroes and nobles. .. .. I want it all.

I love how wild some of the stories can get. Either it slips by the censors or literature isn't held to the same level as stuff depicted in game when rating. Granted they did censor some of the more graphic stuff in the Oblivion versions of some books right? Hopefully they don't continue down that path. I like the "What the?" "...whoa!!" moments when finding books like that.

I am eager to read the new lore books myself, particularly about the Mede dynasty so far, I'm interested as to why Titus' descendants haven't gained control of the empire yet. Other local stories of what has happened in the land in the past 200 years will be interesting to me too.

 Long title!

I'm indifferent. I don't read on lore, but I enjoy the game lore. I'm not going to read a whole book in Skyrim...but I'll be happy if someone like summarizes the lore or something.

That would also be biased, it would simply favour a bias towards the idiology of MasterShake as oppossed to favouring the ideaology of Frylock. Lol.

The Temple censored The Real Barenziah?! Man. Where is the uncensored version? It really is a great and very interesting story. The only part I really hated was what happened to Theris ( I think that was his name). The Emperor's minions really went too far with both he and the boy Straw. Other than that. . . just a really engaging tale.

Between the crisis of Dagon's hordes, and The Shivering Isles incident, I would love for some chronicler to have managed a more thorough lore on the histories of Dremora, Aureal, and Mazkan, and especially of interactions amidst them, the Dremora being male dominated, whilst Aureal's and Mazken subordinate their male members.

I am certainly looking forward, as another poster alluded to, to a more comprehensive history of the civil war across The Empire. on the advancements of the cause of the wizards of Summerset, of the plight of the Dark Elves fleeing Morrowind, of the resistance from Kajitt, Altmer, Breton, Redgaurd et al against Titus Mede, and on and on and on.

always love to read about magic and the text's implication in real life

I loved what the scrolls of the banister (from dragon age) said. basically that the secret to magic is to learn the laws of the dream world and how they relate to ours

when it comes to oblivion I really need to pick that game up again and see what's up. after la noir

YES!

Well, I'd actually like to read about what happened to the empire. Though I'm not terribly surprised, I am saddened to see that while we may have saved the empire, saving it destroyed it all the same.

So long as it is an account of Lusty persons who are ANYTHING BUT Argonian (no Sloads or Goblins either thouh, now that I think on it. Mainly, any of the other playable races aside from the lizard folk) then I am ALL FOR IT!

Love that Kajitt majual that the Kajitt assassin had, and when you read it it asks if the reader has had sixual relations recently, and then advises "if not stop what you are doing and go engage right now! The mission can wait. Find a lusty lass or frisky lad, or any combination thereof that your wise loins deem appropriate etc." HILARIOUS!! :celebration: :read:  :tops: :celebration:

I have mixed feelings about the Empire actually. I am fond of Daedra. I hate much of what the Ayleids are alleged to have done during their rule, but I still find them fascinating. I like the notion of a unified empire. . . and that it has held back total chaos. .. but there are things the EMpire has stood in the way of. Mixed, complicated feelings. Anyway, may the lore inform me more.

Some more lore behind werewolves. "On Lycanthropy" was a contradictory mumbo jumbo. We need a new book that can be bold to say "Oh there is no such thing as a werecroc, werevulture and wereshark!"

LOL!

I had no idea The Real Barenziah actually has "that passage" censored out with a "by order of the temple" note in it. Hopefully they don't censor anything funny like that in Skyrim. Just imagining the looks on the faces of people reading that book while playing Daggerfall. :teehee:

i do love the books in these games, i had so many favorites between morrowind and oblivion... chance's folly is one of them, as well as those other story-telling books, the third door, etc...

i cant wait to see what kinda nordic lore and stories we'll be seeing in skyrim, since this is 200 years later, i imagine quite a few new books will be around.

Edit: oh yeah, hallgerd's tale... another one of my favorites, and the locked room... thank god for the imperial library, so i can read them anytime.

i hope we get more dirty stories like hallgerd's tale, they're just so funny to read.

DAMN THE EMPIRE!

Fallout:New Vegas talking to Caesar

"Death to tyrants!" (begin combat)

But seriously, I would like to know what happened.

*Puts on his Joker costume* "Why so serious ?"

People take poll options far too seriously if they have any touch of humor in them, if I didn′t love the books but hated them I′d totally vote in the redneck sounding option, not like it shames ones being or anything, voting is even anonymous.
