Who else here wants Skyrim to be like Morrowind?

Post » Tue Aug 25, 2009 11:54 pm

Morrowind was the absolute best Elder Scrolls, hands down. It had a huge open world, emense creativity, etc.

They should bring that back.

Bring back the ability to levitate
Bring back the Dark Elves true voices (not the wimpy sounding ones from Oblivion)
Bring back the huge ammounts of spells
Bring back the huge ammounts of armor and weapons
Bring back the towns with no loading screens required to enter

But don't bring back the "wave your sword like an idiot until you kill the scrib" combat lol

BRING BACK SCRIBS!

I agree with levitate
That's false, only VVardenfell Dark Elves sound like that
There are plenty of spells in Oblivion
I agree
Don't care

There are aspects I want to be like Morrowind. There are ones I want to be like Oblivion. Others like Daggerfall, and even some like Arena!

But what I really want is Skyrim to be a bold foray into a its own, unique world and play style.

Couldn't agree more. Skyrim needs to be revolutionary. I don't want to be able to compare Skyrim to anything because its that awesome

completely irrelevant side note, been on this site all day :P pretty crazy

Yeah, me too. Skyrim should be itself and all Nord-like.

Nords are the masters of manliness. Nordic men and woman have beards and rock-hard abs.

Eh, I only have two expectations. You guys know that Skyrim'll blow our balls off anyway.

-Find a balance between Morrowind's depth and Oblivion's user friendliness
-Don't get lazy with the voice actors (7 voice actors in an open world game is inexcusable)

Eh, I'd want it like MW in that the world is something new and alien. Come on, mushroom and carapace houses? Giant fleas for taxis (yes, I attacked the first one I saw..I was new! )

Oh, and just think of all of the cliffracers there could be in the mountains!

There are some things I would want from Morrowind to be added to Skyrim but I want Skyrim to be its own game and not a clone of Morrowind or Oblivion.

This.

Skyrim should be its own game. I don't like it when people say "0mq, Morrowind pwns 0blivion and Te SV shuld be exacly liek morrowing and carrie nufing form oblivion and oblivion sux", I personally think Oblivions a better game than Morrowind, because they made the changes, and gamesas would of have made changes from Oblivion that would make Skyrim a better game than oblivion.

Well, odds are that a lot of places will be similar to Bruma in Oblivion and Solstheim in Bloodmoon. However, there are some pretty strange-sounding aspects of Nord culture (like taking the tongues of their enemies), so it could be nothing like we imagined.

The people who matter. All the tween peasants can go back to OblivionVille with all the other furries.

Personally, I think this game will be just as unique as we see Oblivion and Morrowind.
We should stop saying "Bring back this" or "should this be like this game or that game?"
This should be like itself. It would be much more enjoyable if it wasnt just a mash up of Oblivion and Morrowing, but instead its own game, which I am very much looking forward too.
Instead of considering this game as more like Oblivion, or more like Morrowind, lets think of it more as Skyrim.
I like the sound of it already.

Basically what Seti18 and Ni! said.

I love the look and color of the letters that spell out "Skyrim" in the trailer.

As long as the level scaling is more like morrowind ill be happy. I liked morrowind's level scaling...only some areas but most areas were guaranteed specific level enemies that can kick your ass

That is my favourite part of the trailer. And as I have been since I signed up on the forums, I support Seti's views. Skyrim must be Skyrim. Skyrim will be better than Morrowind so stop trying to get them to dumb it down by making it like Morrowind.

Yeah, I thought we'd gotten rid of the condescending arrogance of MW fans after Oblivion had been out a fews years and here it is rearing its ugly head again. /sigh

All I have to say, is I loved every TES release and have never once badmouthed any part of the series. I agree - I want to see Skyrim be it's own, original game and include some new awe striking scenery.

Haha. I thought I was being very clever by saying that. I am in no way bashing Morrowind. I am only saying Skyrim will be WAAAAAAAYYYYY better in every way except less words.
