That would be funny, if Bethesda was self-righteous about their new spell system being able to cover way more ground than the old, and then having an "oh wait" moment and re-implementing it. I doubt it though, and personally I think Skyrim will still be quite fun without the spellmaker. It's just...if anything, custom spells were integral to roleplaying - perhaps our character was an expert at paralysis spells, or were known to always include a certain effect in their castings. This is a low blow to roleplaying options, which is what really matters to me in these open world games.

I doubt it. Why release it as a DLC, when they have the oppurtunity right now?

I think Spell Creation will not be a DLC, if it's even in-game. In the GI articles it seemed to me they were pushing the 85 spells thing.
Just my opinion.

Perhaps most importantly, the absence of custom spell-making means that we will no longer have the ability to make weapons that heal our enemies, turn them invisible, or enable them to water-walk on strike. Such jolly times will become a relics of the past.

no, not unless their new system is a complete bust. but then if it is...
no. the only thing simular to this was broken steel but even that wasn't quite aplicable to this. for what ever reason, from the tone of it, they were diliberate in the decision to remove spell creation and were aware that it would worry people. if any thing could be said about the decision, you could say their confident that its an improvement.

I really doubt that. Sure, Bethesda has made some mistakes in the past but nothing that bad, i think they are better than that. I mean, it's not EA we are talking about here. Have a little faith. ;)
