So I missed out on Final Judgement as a weapon when siding with the Institute. I killed Elder Maxson before the battle with the Institute. I killed him early on the Prywden. So I went ahead and maxed out all companions and got the two shot Gauss and Explosive Minigun and setup Spectacle Island with all companions there as well as 4 of the 8 level 4 traders. When I found out I missed out on this I had an earlier save. I loaded it up to get the gun this time. Here is what I have to do:

Start at Mass Fusion with Institute.

Gain back about 15 levels.

Discover 56 locations.

Max out affinity for Valentine, Hancock and Strong.

Get back the Two Shot Gauss and Explosive Minigun.

Tweak and build a little at a few Settlements.

Do random missions Diamond City Blues, Kid in the Fridge and Here there be Monsters

Find a Left Leg X01 Power Armor piece.

Rebuild Spectacle Island from the ground up.

All this to get Final Judgement. The way I look at it, is all the other stuff is obtainable while the Final Judgement would be gone forever. Anyone else think I went crazy?

Why even bother? I'm pretty ocd about collecting all the special weapons but this just seems like a colossal waste of time for a mediocre weapon. The 2 shot gauss and explosive minigun are infinitely better than the final judgment.

I would do that only if it was a unique in appearene weapon that fit my current character. At this point I've Rapid Gattling Laser from random legendary, so why bother?
