Who Else Used The Red Rocket as Their Base?

Post » Sun Nov 29, 2015 5:40 pm

Originally made Red Rocket as my homebase, but found it to be TOO FAR away to the north.

I don't fast travel, and actually walk everywhere. I find it a pain to have to keep travelling so far to it.

Because of this, i prefer some place closer to the Central.

Hangman's Alley is my choice because of its centralized location and its the nearest to Diamond City.

Its a small place tho, so hard to build but I got a small cozy settlement going.

Aye, I built a fence the enclose much of the space underneath the red rocket roof, with all original doors (except the front and garage) leading into the area. Added a small shack for settlers, redesigned the crafting stations to be in the garage, and made my room in what was originally the computer room. Got a bit sick of being in there, so making it an armoury as I've extended onto the roof myself.

Something I really find aesthetically pleasing is the windmill power generator, looks great

I got a stairway built, although I'm still not sure how, and I didn't get it placed exactly right and I want to destroy it and start over.

Is it possible to destroy something you made? And how?

I'm very confused here. When you go to the workbench and want to build something ... do you have to stay at the work bench to make it and then carry it where ever you want it or do you enter build mode and then leave and go where you want to put something and make it and place it?

How do you place something? I had a red outlined stairway floating in front of me and eventually it got placed ( but not right ) but I don't know what key I hit to set it down. The game desperately needs a manual. I know about help and it's ok but not good enough.

I scrapped most of the junk but I left some trees for them that I will cut down, only problem is carrying all the wood from their workshop to mine.
