Who gets what from your $60 Purchase? Interesting Read

I found this link from an employee of Crytek who twitted this.

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/entertainmentnewsbuzz/2010/02/anatomy-of-a-60-dollar-video-game.html

After you read this. What are your thoughts?

My thoughts

Crytek has been already paid from EA for making the game or still receiving royalties from EA. If they have been paid, why would they continue to patch the game when they can be working on the next game? The DLC bombed and we all know this. I guess we have to accept the condition this game is in.

The PC is where their profit comes from.

Interesting. I guess it's time to go back to Halo reach.

Same here.... bad thing is I think Crysis 2 "HAD" the potential to be one of the best but fell short because of the lack of support. I kind of feel ripped off 3 months later.

Activision does the same thing, but the difference is how the agreement is written to support the game. If a company like Crytek is brand protective like COD is, these problems would be fixed already. I think that this is the reason why we got the DLC before Crytek knew it was available because EA released it.

I know how you feel, but the game made most its money from Single Player. The multiplayer was part of the game, but the DLC was there to pay for the MP development.
