So, who's getting the Legendary Edition tomorrow?

Post » Wed Jun 05, 2013 9:34 am

At last, the moment I've been waiting for forever is nearly here. I was one of the view who decided to hold off on getting Skyrim until the Game of the Year (or Legendary in this case) Edition was released. This was especially tedious as a PS3 player because of the development issues, it seemed like it might never even exist. Just wondering if there is anyone else here picking up the LE and what you reasons for doing so are. Did anyone else go through this agonizing wait like I did? Also, what are your thoughts on the Prima guide? I'm not usually one to buy guides (the internet makes accessing this information ridiculously easy, and it's free), but the Collector's Edition is pretty tempting.

Tomorrow? I've had it for the past few months. Ever since Dragonborn was released.

Not out here until Thursday, which is okay, I get paid then anyway.

Haven't decided if I am going to wait for the Steam summer sale or not though. I've bought the game and each DLC on the day they were released for Xbox, so I'm not exactly pining to grab my PC copy as of yet.

Well if I shared similar circumstances, I certainly would be. Mods alone are making me buy a PC in a couple of months. I love the idea of player-added expansions on developer-added expansions. Never ending fun. :D

Why do you think I'm getting a PC copy to begin with? :P

The only reason I can abate such need is because the latest expansion for Crusader Kings II is like.. "You must play me all the times."

Try and not get too excited. You might get horribly disappointed. Specially if you are on PS3. The Legendary edition on PS3 could be massively broken. I really hope not. But just in case, read some of the reviews http://www.amazon.com/Fallout-3-Game-Edition-sony-playstation3/dp/B002BXKJ6O/ref=sr_1_fkmr2_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1370279654&sr=8-1-fkmr2&keywords=fallout+3+goty+ps3 here and ready yourself. Just in case.

I hope my good luck continues. I know I've heard of a lot of major issues plaguing people with the GotY Edition of Fallout 3 and the Ultimate Edition of New Vegas (especially on PS3). I have both and have never experienced a major issue with either of them, such as data corruption, unplayable frame rate or broken quests. I've only experienced minor things (rarely), typical of Bethesda games (occasional freezes, clipping issues, minor lag, etc).

I would have considered getting an Xbox 360 version a major upgrade from PS3. Just going strait from PS3 to PC.... well I feel like Talos :tops:

I will be getting it, but not tomorrow.

I already have the game and all the DLC for X-Box 360, but I want a PC version as well.

My reasoning is simple - I just want the option to be able to play it on my computer. Plus, I'm a collector, and I'd like to have a complete* Elder Scrolls collection for both PC and X-Box, since I regularly use both.

*Complete in this case meaning Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim. Excluding Arena and Daggerfall which, to my knowledge, no longer have boxes available to buy.

Honestly, this Legendary Edition is the biggest fail ever. You are releasing something we can already get, and I already have. Add a freaking patch, a real patch. I would pay real money for a patch.

Okay. Suppose the current patch was 1.8. The legendary edition comes with 1.9, legendary skills, oblivion's default "difficulty" and all the crap it fixed. Suppose 1.9 was not to be released for the regular version. Would you have bought the Legendary edition then?

How is it different than any other GotY/Ultimate/Complete edition? Typically, these editions are released for people who didn't buy the original game (the added DLC is an added incentive). If you've already got the DLC via download and the original game, then there's not much point in repurchasing, unless you're a collector. So yeah, it's not really a "fail" (unless you simply call all GotY Editions a fail), which is just silly.

The DLC is available currently for all to purchase. They are releasing, what is already available. This is not a GOTY. All goty comes with a patch. SHow me the patch. So, you guys are cool with stagnation?

There is no progress with this edition. Just a repackage job.

And I have a job. I dunno. Ten bucks is about right for lunch for one.

I don't know what you are talking about. This IS the GOTY edition, they just chose to go with a different name, particularly one that aligns with the new additions in patch 1.9 (Legendary skills + Legendary difficulty).

Pros for the Legendary edition in my case

1) Saves money

2) Saves ALOT of time that would otherwise be spent downloading

3) Nice new game case to ad to collection

Again, you oblivion with your post.

Places like the UESP and Wikia have rendered strategy guides almost unnecessary for game information. However, the Collectors edition of the Guides for these games are quite nice and will include artwork and other things you can't get anywhere else. Plus, strange as it may sound, they do make for good reading.
