On my first playthrough, I want to play completely using my own mind...

You mean, like, telekinesis? :ahhh:

Just some mask I found in a train station restroom next to a hole in the wall. Weird.

I' probably shouldn't enjoy glory hole references as much as I do... but to hell with it! :blush2:

I might, if it's a nice guide. I got a $5 coupon for it with the pre-order from Best Buy.

as i have said before, F3 was the first of the series i played. when i saw the size of the guide, i realized that the scope of the game would be unlike anything i have ever played, and it was worth every penny. it allowed me to understand the storyline of all the Fallout games, and provided me with an understanding of the fallout saga as a whole. i am 100% going to be buying the NV guide, and locking myself in my room for a min. if 2 weeks before emerging for air(except for daily shower breaks) :goodjob:

I voted yes, but I haven't fully decided. Chances are I'll put it on hold when I go to get my CE preorder.

I have the FO3 book, and it's a very good book. I don't buy strategy guides all too often, but I treat them just like I treat the wiki. I only use them as a last resort. I am very careful about avoiding spoilers of any kind. I never look ahead and only refer to them if I'm truly stuck... at least until I've beaten the game once. Chalk me up to one of those people who likes having the physical object to hold in their hands.

I pre-ordered it with my CE from gamestop just to have it and so I can put the map on my wall lol

I also like to read about the creatures and character back-stories :)

There's a good chance that I'll get it. I prefer to play games using a controller while sitting on my couch (console or computer, a laser mouse is of great use for the latter). This doesn't mesh well with web surfing for item locations. I also like having a map without pulling up the in-game one and can find something faster in the index of a book than entering search terms. I find having a reference makes open world games more enjoyable. If I'm trying to build a railway rifle and need to steam gauge assembly I'd rather take a quick look in a book to find out the chances of one being in a nearby location than spending the next hour combing the wasteland for a part.

No. Not unless there something really special included such as a collector's item or a feature that can only be unlocked with a code in the book. I don't think there is any need of a hardcopy strategy guide for any video game anymore. After all, there isn't a secret or information that you couldn't find off the Internet in a few weeks or even days after the game is released.
