You know, the "PC master race" thing gets tossed around a lot (I do it too!). There's usually a very valid reason, especially when it comes to MMOs. In the case of this game however they've at least decided to go a different route, and that is to separate all of the platforms onto their own megaservers.

Now, the obvious downside is that it can make it harder for friends to play together, as they need to all choose the same platform. Do you both pick the PS4? Xbox One? PC? Or do you decide to use your favored platform knowing you can't interact? It also means you can't freely move from console to PC or vice versa. You're stuck with what you've got, and there's nothing you can do about it.

But there's a very big upside to it as well, and that is the fact that mixing PCs with consoles in MMOs always comes at a cost. Be it memory limitations, compatibility issues, unfair advantages (PC gets addons, consoles do not), or any number of other things where somebody is held back by another platform. You don't have to deal with these things with platform specific servers. Each one can get catered to specifically without needing to worry about the impact it will have on another platform. If content can't be added because of console limitations (FFXI and FFXIV are notorious for this), it CAN be added for those that can handle it, and that's a very good thing.

It really doesn't make a difference. You can get yourself a steambox or hook up your PC / Mac to any screen and use a controller..

The community on PC will superior, no doubt.

You would be suprised how comfortable a sofa is and a wireless controller near a fireplace on a cold winter day O.O

I may be forced to get for both a PC and PS4 because I may have friends on both platforms and they (Zenimax) ridiculously haven't caught up with the 2014 reality that consoles are PCs and you can connect a keyboard, mouse, or controller to any platform and let the gamer decide which they prefer. All they had to do was have a toggle on the consoles and PC for whether you prefer a PC UI controller scheme or a Console UI controller scheme. They don't know how to think outside do the box. This would have helped them.

PC first. Seems very interesting to play an mmo on a console though. I never played an mmo on a console before.

I know it'll probably be the same but it seems easier to play with a controller and since I have a huge tv in my bedroom being able to just chill on the bed playing on a big screen tv is pretty relaxing compared to sitting in a chair with a little monitor.

Going with PC for now, mainly because I don't have any of the next-gen (current-gen?) consoles yet and because I think that the community will be bigger on the PC. Might decide to get the PS4 version later so I'll be able to play with my mate.

PC. I will play at 5760x1200 with everything maxed. No console can top that... Mind you, it cost me enough so I guess the trade off is a console won't be as good but will be vastly cheaper.

PC. If I want to use the TV and sit on the sofa with wireless input it's just as easy on PC as on a console. Suggesting that sitting on the sofa is an experience you can only get with a console just demonstrates lack of knowledge about PC gaming!

pc all the way. a console offers nothing over a pc except exclusive titles and those seem to be slowly going away.

My mind can't handle the concept of an MMO on a console... What about key bindings and macros? Quick targeting as a healer using the 'F' keys? I understand that it's going to be FPS, so healing can just be a case of aiming at them, but if it's in the heat of battle with a lot going on, surely you can bypass and heal them directly?... You wouldn't be able to do that with a pad

I think Krivann stole the words straight out of my brain. I was about to type up something very similar.

But yeah, PC all the way. I couldn't imagine playing this game on a controller and I actually like using the Xbox controller on my PC for several games. I don't know how they are going to make using a controller with this game a good experience. I don't think it is even possible. Playing the beta was enough to let me know that it was time to replace my Logitech G9 with a gaming mouse that offers more buttons.

some people swear by a controller which is fine but why not just use it on the pc? i dont know i guess i just feel like a pc can do everything better so why settle for less?

I have an xbox 360 controller that Razer made that I use to play all the PC games that play better with controllers. Like Remember Me, all the indie platformers, and just general console games ported to PC.

I know what ya mean. it boggles my mind.

When I showed my friend the Logitech G602 that I'm thinking about buying (probably will end up going with it), he laughed and said "Mice are only good for doing homework, controllers are for gaming!", as if controllers were some how exclusive to consoles. I just smiled and nodded while thinking about the NES, SNES, N64 and 360 controllers I own and use on my PC as needed. :D

Sadly, he will be playing TESO on the PS4.
