Who is going to play New Vegas instead of Skyrim?

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 2:55 pm

Just curious, who plans on continuing to play New Vegas until the next Fallout comes out and not going to Skyrim?

I have temporary short bouts about contemplating playing Skyrim, and then I remind myself how much I hate elves, magic, and fantasy. If I played Skyrum, I would end up playing as a big dumb ass with a sword and there's only so much you can do with that, lol.
It's the same bouts that forced me to watch the first Harry Potter film and all three Lord of the Rings movies, causing me to put my finger down my throat, and thinking to myself "why in the world did I think it was a good idea to watch this?"

So I can say for certain I will not be buying Skyrim. I like the New Vegas lore too much to hang up my revolver.

I'll try to play both.
But I get very tired from work so I might only play those kinds of games during the weekends and if I only have time for one game I'll mostly play Skyrim but set aside enough time to New Vegas to finish my mods.

No Vegas for me. I have run its course for the time being. Skyrim is my top priority now. I loved LoTR, how could you not have? <_< Guess people have different tastes. Harry Potter on the other hand is okay to not like because I hate it :P I don't view Skyrim as being magic and fantasy, more medieval and ruthless. History has always been my favorite subject in school and learning about Europe during the dark ages and even before that during the Roman Empire was extraordinary. I see TES as a way to relive those moments, in a way that is my own. Confusing yes but oh well I am rambling.

Good to keep Vegas alive though :goodjob:

Played FNV for 8-9 months, more or less, but haven't played FNV for more than two months ... after all that playing & video making/editing I'm just too burnt out on FNV to play it again yet... so it's to Skyrim I'll be going.

Of course, I may decide Skyrim is quickly boring, like I did with Oblivion, and in that case I'll be playing the Path of Exile beta some more, which should have the newest version of beta out soon.

I'll be going to Skyrim even though there is much left for me to do in New Vegas. I'll finish Lonesome Road and my Yes Man ending on this character hopefully by next Friday, and then migrate to the world of elves and magic.

I'm a Fallout fan, not a Bethesda fan. I couldn't care less about Skyrim... well, except that its release will take away some New Vegas modders. So I guess I have negative interest in Skyrim; I wish it weren't.

Nope. I like TES more than Fallout, but Oblivion is performance and stability -wise such a disaster that i can't play it for too long before getting annoyed. That is of course caused by excessive mod usage, but Oblivion requires excessive modding.

But now, a brand new TES game on a improved engine. Seeing Fallout 3 they've learned some lessons since Oblivion which will most likely reduce the modding need (though some removals will propably make me use mods that re-add them should they emerge) further improving performance and stability...

So in short:

I'm not getting Skyrim until next year, and I haven't picked up NV yet. I'll be picking it up to coincide with Skyrim's release.

I'm sorry, there's just so much fantasy crap out there and so very few post-apocalyptic things. I'm sticking with Fallout until the next one comes out. I never much liked LotR, or all the other "so the same it makes my eyes bleed" copies.

I'm probably deluding myself a bit on that regard since Fallout appears to be a spiritual successor to Wasteland, but I really much prefer post-apocalyptic to DnD.

That's how I feel about military styled action-shooters. zzzzzz.

I used to love fantasy and still can...but I admit after decades of reading/watching/playing it is getting a bit stale. I've become pretty picky about my fantasy stuff/what I want out of it now.

I played Daggerfall before I played Fallout 1, so it has seniority. Still, I find TES to be a bit too happy and sunshiny sometimes.

mmm pretty much after 5 full playthrus, i have done EVERYTHING and seen it all with FONV, i cant wait to get back into a world where i can just sit down and the npcs interact/atk/steal/pretty much chill and listen to a npc have a different conversation with every person they come in contact with....FONV was a fantastic game, but now that i have been there and doen that and got my tshirt im ready to move on to Skyrim. I need a year to let myself forget about FONV so i can come back and forget alot of stuff to replay it.

I'm gonna give the game a try....I'm gonna play as Conan the Barbarian, obviously a Nord, just Swords, axes, and stealth. I hate magic so I'm not investing in that. I'll probably go around killing elves and magicians, just because they piss me off, and if I find the Imperium or whoever is in charge is oppressive, I'll give them the same treatment Conan gave Thulsa Doom.

Krom !

There is no way I'm gonna play a lizard or a minature elf or any of that ......stuff.

Long hair, big muscles, balls the size of nebraska.

I'll be playing Skyrim nonstop. Fallout is easily my favorite video game franchise and I enjoyed Vegas but it can't hold my attention much anymore.

I'll play Skyrim for a few months after it comes out (assuming it will be good), but then I'll probably go back to New Vegas once I start getting Fallout withdrawals.
