who has a bugged game & who hasn't ?

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 4:30 pm

I have been playing for approx 28hrs (on PC) without a problem.
Yet I'm reading on these forums that this game is full of bugs etc, and is no good. I don't understand.
Am I just lucky or did I get the golden disc? Did some of us get 'good' copies and others 'duds' ?
Aren't all our copies of the game made from the same Master? So why are some having problems and not others??
I am probably showing my ignorance but for me this does not add up.

I'm in Australia. Are our copies bug/glitch free?
Is it just the North American copies that have problems?
What about you guys in Europe, UK and Japan - what is your experience?

I'm interested to know.

Been playing for about 60 hours, seen a few minor bugs. Like getting kick out of the game a couple of times, and some minor graphics glitches. But over all, having a good time.

30+ hours on PC and no real bugs. I never had bugs with Alpha Protocol either, I kind of feel like Obsidian gets a bad rap.

im been playing for like 30 hours on the 360. its only crashed like 3 times.

But im being attacked by NCR troops at Helios 1 even though im accepted. i accidently shoot a troop and i reloaded a save but that troop seems to remember that i shoot him. Therefore the second he opens fire everyone else becomes hostile. :sadvaultboy:

PC, ~28 hours.

I've had the usual gamesas random CTDs (don't really even notice those, they're expected. Heck, they happened more in Oblivion.)

Until I put Steam in Offline mode, I got hit with the deleted saves bug.

My crafting menus have the "odd clicking if you mouse over the ingredients list" and "menu gets stuck on one recipe if you mouse over the ingredients list" bugs.

And taking ED-E to Gibson Scrapyard for it's quest doesn't trigger any quest stuff. No biggie there.

You have had bugs you probably just havnt noticed them or chose to ignore them. If youve never used a workbench of any kind, never played Caravan, never picked up ED-E or never gone outside Doc Mitchells house then sure you havnt had any bugs.

I know with the two console systems there have been issues with the game "freezing". I would consider this a glitch. I just played for about 10 minutes last night when I got home from work, and BLAMO, froze up again. It's annoying, especially when you haven't saved and have to replay the same thing over and over.

50+ hrs on 360, no bugs. Froze twice but playing for 10 hrs at a time would cause freezes.

I have only seen 1 what I would consider a bug but not sure if it is or not to be on the safe side I will put it in spoiler tags

Spoiler
After the house always wins II I had victor in the lucky 38 blow up he was still outside the casino which I think is another bug as he is always out there and was deactivated at his shack in goodsprings

I have it on the 360. The loading times were bad, there were a few framerate dips here and there, and some texture pop-ins, but I've experienced no major glitches so far.

Roughly the same amount of time for me. Level 16 now. Fell through a rock once (reload). No quest-related bugs. Exactly three freezes, all of which happened whilst approaching marked locations (two at Novak, and one at... someplace else nearby I can't remember). I've got Ed-E and have not had any bugs -- there's a lot of waiting involved, and triggers, but no bugs. I use the benches and campfires and have had no issues with those either.

I generally play for 5-8 hours straight.

There are some long load times, but whatever. Those aren't bugs or glitches.

many bugs and glitches and i've been playing for about 30 hours +.
Some of them are kinda rare, but the main ones are the pip boy 3billion screwing with the shade of the background in conversations. (a minor bug to be sure but it gets irritating).
Random game crashes..

Generally very unstable.
The slow-mo kill camera is broken for cinematic mode. as i have been stuck in it before.
enemies getting stuck in the terrain...yes inside the terrain.
Some of the quests are annoying or broken, i'm undecided as to which.

If the game you've been playing hasn't had a bug i would be very very surprised. Then again i did download from steam, and they're known for screwing up programme files and corrupted files.

I had glitches, rad scorpions through the floor but thats to be expected.

Had a game crasher to in mojave outpost.
Before completeing the novac quest for ghost I tried to trade with the merchant there(the one that walks around, bearded guy) and if i brought more then one item at a time the game freezed.

If i traded one at a time once id finished any time the game went to auto save after that it froze. Ended up just not trading with him and went somewhere else tried about 20 times with different scinarios could find 1 particular think that was causing it except for just trading with him.(had the game installed to my HD and not installed - tried it both ways)

After i gave up trading with this guy its been running fine.

This was on xbox360, might be sorted in the next patch you pc people already have

What about you guys in Europe, UK and Japan - what is your experience?

Bear in mind Europe pretty much got the game just after the patch was released with 200+ fixes. It's safe to say the game was released http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=271206. I feel for the console crowd who don't have, and expect not to need, internet access.

Onto me though, lol. PC. 22 hours, no freezes, no crashes, no drops in FPS, it's running as well as if not better than Fallout 3. It feels solid and the textures look better, improved over FO3s, it's a subtle visual difference but if you've played a lot of FO3 you'll notice it. Also NPC animations are improved, enemies react to getting shot, stumble sometimes etc. 22 hours of exploring and balancing my reputation, enjoying hardcoe Mode (for the crippled limbs not being healed with beds - the rest is easy - hearty supply of Doctor's Bags for me) and loving the atmosphere. I haven't found it difficult, nor too easy.

I need to put out a kudos to Obsidian for doing a little polishing on the third-person and character movement aspects of the game, my character feels heavier and moves more realistically, I like the limited camera zoom as Fallout 3 bugged me when it zoomed right out when my character did anything like a Sandman kill or eat a corpse, or just sit down. Kudos too for the character animation overhaul with the weapon handling, reloading, firing, jam animations, they are all better than FO3. Goes without saying that advancing through character levels and making choices on the build is greatly improved, since it's more intelligent and limiting.

Only problems I can report are with Giant Ants and Radscorpions having trouble navigating the Wasteland, dropping through the landscape sometimes, but generally doing the tilted freak run that's still present for, at least the Radscorps, in Fallout 3. Entering merchant inventories: the name of the character is absent from the item list. So you get < > and then if you click right you get and then left again to return the name will appear . Water consumption doesn't appear to be having an effect on the statistic for water consumption. The character Ghost at the NCR outpost repeated a greeting twice. That...

... is it. I've had no problems at all. Am absolutely loving the exploration, combat, and quests (though I'm neutral with every faction and so have avoided completing certain missions to remain that way, which has gimped my levelling speed a little me thinks, which could mean I've had a slower slog early on than some players. I've also restricted my character to a two-weapon loadout or a 10mm and Service Rifle) enjoying the weapon modding (don't leave home without my improved Service Rifle) but haven't really gotten into item creation or any of the smaller aspects like messing around playing Caravan or whatever. All in all, it's exactly what I thought it would be. Slow going early on, but as soon as I reached Nipton I felt like I'd come home to harsh post-apocalyptia. :fallout:

22 Hours of gameplay , some minor bugs like scorpions getting buried, once not firing in vats.
What really pissed me of was the broken quest Wheel of furtune and i read that there are others like that, i don't care much for flying chars and the like but don't u dare screw up quests half the fun in the game are completing quests especially the ones that seem to be fun then u cant continue due to missing dialog :brokencomputer:

Forgot to say that the plataform i'm using is the pc

Played for about 25+ hours and no bugs. Thing is, when someone got a problem with the game, you will hear about it, but when everything runs smoothly, you most likely won't. When reading these forums, you get the impression that the game is broken, when in reality the large majority probably don't got any problems with it at all. You will also see people complaining about pretty much anything (the game is to hard/easy, colors are to bright/dark, Mantis took my lunch money/gave me a wedgie); if the game was perfect, people would say it was too perfect. To me it is a mystery how the devs still want to be here at the forums when they get [censored] tossed after them for minor things. No matter what you do, people will complain. I consider this game to be one of the best games I have ever played, same with Fallout 3. A game that can be played for hundreds of hours will of course have some glitches in it, and can't be compared to MW2, for instans, that took about 6-7 hours to complete. No, I think I have to stop reading these forums, because all the [censored]ing from cranky, spoiled kids is starting to get to me. Anyway, thank you Obsidian for an absolutely amazing game

I have the UK-Version for the PS3 and i'am playing since Saturday evening.
I've had to reset the PS3 two or three times because it freezed in the loading screen, some NPC's are stuck in ceiling, rocks etc. Saw a blinking rad scorpion yesterday with a messed up mesh model.
The Framerate drops sometime nearly to zero, for example at the attack of the NCR on the NCR Correction Facilty.

I've experienced also that some NPC's outfit is changed randomly after entering or leaving a building. :)

I hope there will be a patch soon.

I've got about 12 hours on the game; I started playing after the 2 patches, so I never had any issue with saves. in the 12 hours, I've CTD twice, which is not bad; I've come across 2 broken dialog trees; I very rarely but occasionally get the blinking white spot across the screen, I've come cross 2 clipping problems with NPCs/creatures embedded in rocks, I had a problem where I went into a campsite with no creatures, saved, left the game and came back, only to be swarmed by Cazadors, forcing me to TCL my way out of the area. And got stuck in slo-mo once, but turned that feature off. There's also a bug when trying to make things, in the screen to the left is your recipes, on the right is the list of ingredients needed, if you try to go over to scroll through the ingredients, there's a loud clicking noise, then when you choose another recipe the ingredient list doesn't change, forcing you to leave the screen and come back.

Other than that, I have to say I haven't really come across anything major. My load times are quite small actually, and other than the things that are inherent to the Gamebryo engine (occasional stuttering, scenery-popping, etc.) I lucked out... knock on wood.

Things I would change/fix: don't know if this gets addressed further down the line, but there REALLY needs to be a way to stack Caravan cards in your inventory! just like there's a keyring for your keys, there should be a Caravan Deck for all your cards... who wants to scroll through 30 cards??

EDIT: Oh, and PC version.

Playing on the 360 for about 40 hours and I've had about three crashes at loading screens, increased loading times the longer I play and one instance of a missing texture.

Other then that it's been pretty good, there is skipping sometimes with the framerate but to be quite honest I was expecting that to happen with this game.
