Who have thought that the trailer guy is wearing 100% Resist

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 9:37 pm

So, the guy at the official trailer receives a full ration of tasty dragon fire (with spicy sauce), and still after that he appears like ready to do his first communion. What do you think that has happened?

Myself, I think he has some serious enchantments in his stuff. Or a sun cream Factor 120+. Cloth-protection enabled.

You can block spells (possibly fire shouts) with your shield.

I think it is a perk because he is dragonborn, like how nords get frost resist stuff.

Hard time believing your average fur shield is resistant to dragonfire...

Well one gameinformer article or pedcast said it would also be shouts that you whisper so he could have used one of the to protect himself. Just off the top of my head at least.

Considering they is the dovahkiin one would expect him to be able to resist some of what the dragons can throw at him....

Oh come on. He is the Hero. Some heroes communicate with animals, some heroes are given governor seats in recognition of their highly heroic merits, some are invulnerable to venereal diseases, most of them has groupies... And, well our hero never gets a sunburn. Or any burn, apparently.

looked more like engraved metal than fur.

also haven't you seen like any KNIGHT VS. DRAGON fight ever? there's always the part where the knight crouches behind his shield while flames lick above it.

it's also worth noting that after the fire bit the dragon didn't get a single hit on him. he [censored] that dragon up like a boss.

its just for drama,

I HOPE we can't have 100% immunity for ANYTHING, UNLESS its a really short lived ability kinda thing like a paladin's sanctuary spell (Bubble of immunity)

i just think that the dragonborn is resistant to dragon fire, not all fire though, so perhaps all the armor you wear will also be resistant to it as well, also if fire actually consumed armor than fighting a mage would svck, he would just set your armor on fire and watch you run around screaming.

Hey wait a second, wouldn't 100% fire resistance be OP in dragon fights? Dunmer ftw? :/

Of Course...
I meant if the actual player WAS using a fur shield that scene would not make sense, and that is in game footage too

I'm going to guess that the guy in the trailer just had enough health that a single dragon breath can't kill him.

i was less worried about that than the dragon being killed by his sword. the ONLY things that should kill or even hurt dragons are dragonshouts. you would have a very difficult time killing a rhino with a sword and dragons are waaay bigger and covered in scaly armor. if swords and arrows alone can do it then it defeats the purpose of even having dragonborn since any number of guards could do it.....especially since for a substantial part of the game they will be stronger than you.

I don't think the perk of being a dragonborn is the capability of killing dragons, but the posibility of adquiring their powers by killing them and then using those powers agains a dragon god.

EDIT: And if dragons couldn't be killed by other means than shouts, fighting dragons would be quite boring.
