Who here plays a Nord?

What style of Nord do you play with? What classes do you use? I picture Nord's as fearless and laugh at their enemies and look forward to every fight they find them selves in. I picture them as like a Spartan. ooh maybe I should make a new class called Spartan lol

Well I've had 2 Nords so far, both females. In both cases, they were pretty much ruthless fighters (like you said). The main difference is my first one, Renee Gade, was sort of this jack-of-all-trades who did every quest thrown at her (or tried to). she also was quite immoral. If money was involved, she was all about it, regardless of whether she had to steal or assault somebody.

My newest Nord is Dyan phor a'Cauz the Paladin. She's also a bad ass fighter, though she's Lawful Good and has deeper morals. She only gets involved with a quest if there's some sort of greater purpose for good. She prays to the Nines, goes to chapel, etc. She's more of a noble Knight-type character who's good with a blade and only casts certain spells (which are based partially on D&D rules: Light, Sheild, Turn Undead, Command, Detect Life, and Dispel). She also is proficient with all the healing & cure type spells.

I like playing Nord characters. I'm surely gonna make a male Nord Barbarian one of these days...

Spartan is a great name for a class, btw. I'm thinking my next Renee Gade character is gonna be based on the whole Sparta/Athens Greek warrior type. She'll wear only Arena armor, too, for battle clothes!

I see what you did there. :P

I'm not a huge fan of Nords, myself. I'm not interesting in their culture in the least, and they're too "barbaric" for my tastes. That said, I love playing pure warriors. But Orcs and Nords aren't my thing.

What style of Nord do you play with? I play a pure strength, blunt weapons warrior.
What classes do you use? Custom class - Dark Vanguard.
He used to be part of an order in Skyrim called the Vanguards. However, he was kicked out when he disobeyed an order to burn a whole village to the ground, killing everyone in it.
I don't think I would call him a good guy, but he refuses to commit absolute atrocities.

Heh, my character wears the Arena Raiment quite a bit. http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv43/Acadian6/Buffy%20I/ScreenShot84.jpg

As far as Nords go. . . well Buffy peeks down the front of her Arena Raiment. Then she looks over at her friend Sigrid and feels . . . somehow shortchanged. http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv43/Acadian6/Buffy%20I/ScreenShot88.jpg

We gave her a scrawny little body by BAB instead of a more, um. . . Nordic looking body mod. We tried HGEC with the smaller proportion options, but the problem was many of the HGEC outfits defaulted to cup sizes that prevented Buffy from seeing her toes when she looked down. Jumping on and off her horse, pulling her bowstring. . . no thanks. Also, Buffy has noticed that when Sigrid talks with men, the Nord has to tap herself on the forhead and admonish, "Hey! My eyes are up here!" Lol.

I've played as a Nord before, but it didn't last too long. They can be compared with Spartans, but I think of them more like the Vikings..

I've never been a fan of nordic characters, in oblivion or other games really.
I go more for celtic and saxon warriors to be honest, but thats just my personnal like, although every so often I get a longing for something a bit Nordic in playstyle..
Mostly after watching the 13'th warrior, I do like the idea of roleplaying that out for the MQ in oblivion.

My avatar during both play-throughs of Oblivion has been an elderly Nord warrior who eventually settles into the role of a roving knight-errant. This time round we take his role as Crusader and Champion quite seriously. As such he now spends much time aiding the Council and Legion... collecting taxes, patrolling roads and performing special assignments for Chancellor Ocato. He's also head of the Fighters Guild and Arch-Mage (the latter a more-or-less political appointment). Neither he nor I would ever contemplate joining the Thieves or Assassins Guild.

Race wise, Nord is quite a departure for me. I have always tended to favor "shorter" races, me being 5'6". I played Arena, Daggerfall and Morrowind as a dark elf, and fully expected to follow suit in Cyrodiil. But the more I thought on it, the more I came to realize that my days as an elf were numbered. Height has nothing to do with it. Age does. I just can't relate to youth any more, and elves are epitome of eternal youth. Even in games/books where elves are not eternal, one seldom thinks of them as old and decrepit. I wanted old. I wanted homely (yet kindly). I wanted "frumpy". Nords are good for that. Plus, Nords are not normally known for mental prowess. Not necessarily stupid, but not geniuses either**. Another natural match for me. I suppose my being a teetotaler doesn't fit Nordic image, but ya can't have everything (and in any case my avatar is not adverse to a swig every now and again). As to height, for some reason being tall doesn't bother me as much as it did once did.

In truth, I originally created him as a throw-away character, someone to learn the game with, who would then be replaced by an avatar of possibly different race with all sorts of class customizations. The re-role never happened and likely never will.

Second play-through screen-shot. http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn303/Decrepit_Waste/ESIV%20Oblivion/2ndPlaythroughCover1.jpg.

** I'm not saying Nords can't or shouldn't be portrayed as smart, only that they can be a good fit for those striving for a less intellectually endowed avatar.

I play as a Nord, his names Godric and hes a vampire as well. He's the Dark Brotherhood listener, and I currently fight him in the Arena at night time. (8PM is the last fight). Im trying to get his hand-to-hand combat skill up. Trying to only fight with fists. He has some kind of morals, and only assassinates people who have escaped justice, (like Dexter). After my nightly fights in the Arena I hop around the roof tops of the cities and break into noble peoples homes and steal from them. Thats my character in a nut shell, I love playing as a vampire :D

One of my first times playing, I used a Nord to push my combat effectiveness. But then I switched over to a Breton... even though I barely use magic.

My first stealth character was a Nord. Modified Agent class with Mecantile replaced with Blade. I retired this character after I finished SI at Level 32. It got boring one-shot stealth killing everything with Amber Arrows and Bow.
