Okay, so it's stated that somebody hired the Talon Company to make sure the Capital Wasteland remains a [censored]hole.

Question is: who do you think it was? Some people say that it's Tenpenny, Burke and his kind, but I don't think so. I think it was probably the Enclave, or maybe a faction that hasn't been seen yet. Or if you really wanna tinfoil it up it could have been Lyons or the Brotherhood Outcasts.

They were hired by Mr. MacGuffin and his shadowy group of unexplained plot points.

If that's the case, it seems highly strange they would allow the group they hired to actively engage their deployed military forces in combat. Enclave and Talon Company troops duke it out all the time whenever they come into close proximity. And I'm pretty sure one of the scripted vertibird bombing runs targets a Talon Company position. Not a very good business relationship in that case....

Really there's no good explanation that fits. The "in-lore" explanation is that its probably some outside group that we'll most likely never hear about and exist only to give Talon Company some sort of loose motivation.
