Who is Invading Skyrim

Post » Sun Dec 20, 2009 10:42 am

although the nords don't worship alduin (akatosh), they still hate his guts
they believe he is the world eater, and his return will signify that he is going to devour the universe to make way for a new one or something
not worshiping doesn't mean they don't believe he exists
it's sort of like christians not worshiping satan

I believe the key word is wanted to believe.

Most Christians don't want to believe in the devil. Many go as far as denying his existence.

Also see Holocaust Deniers.

Akaviri makes the most sense to me. They tried once and was stopped, just barely, by a Dragonborn (Reman).

Besides, the Ka Po' tun offered shelter to the dragons and their leader managed to transform into one.

right, but in the trailer they are talking about the inhabitants of skyrim as a whole, not just some crazy radical few.
also, I always found holocaust deniers to be a little... tinfoil hat.

You have to think that TES is set back in a time when people were a jelly-load more religious. So it would hardly be the few that wouldn't want to believe He existed.

It's got to be Ka Po' Tun and possibly even with the addition of the Tang Mo as the Ka Po' Tun swore to invade Tamriel and Tang Mo are their allies. But they swore to do this after the destruction of the Taesci which they have not fulfilled. Although I do not know why they seek to destroy Tamriel as they were given refuge in Cyrodiil.

EDIT: Sorry for double post.

Tosh Raka <> Akatosh

Tosh Raka = Akatosh, or an aspect of Akatosh, or a mirror of Akatosh. So whatever the role he/they may play, the link is there.

I don't think it's the Tosh Raka tiger dragon of Ka Po' Tun.
I suppose it could be the Tsaesci but I don't think that's it either.
Someone who mentioned the Falmer I think could be on to something.
But I also like the idea that the Greybeards are the Dragons.

The 'they have returned' bit goes to show that the dev's can bring back any tribe or race etc at any further point in time. Including the Dwemer. If they came back Morrowind is in ruins so where would they go? I'm not saying it's them though but for anyone who ever wanted to roll a dwarf at some point their may be hope.

The obvious thing that springs to mind is Akavir.

But it can't be them. No one at all doubts their existence. It is probably one of the races that are always described as being extinct, like the Falmer, or some as-yet entirely unheard of race.

Falmer would make the most sense, given the history between them and the Nords. I just don't see how the Dragons would fit in though.

Tosh Raka -> Raka Tosh -> Akatosh.

Mind implode.

Also, I like Fvash's theory about Dovahkiin being the next incarnation of Lorkhan. It can be watered down to 'you are the only person who can stop this evil dragon killing everything' for the [self censored out of pity for the word filter] masses, but also ties in very, very neatly with the existing lore and would hopefully mean that we aren't going to be the sidekick again.

Boy if we are the sidekick again...

...........FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

ok back to thread.

I see why people stick to an Akaviri involvement in the next series, I still don't get why they would circumvere around a significant portion of the Continent just to hit Skyrim. not saying Skyrim was the only place hit or that there is information we don't know. but the Trailer is pretty singular about SKYRIM'S past events. I've not the details to know if Skyrim was adversely effected by the earlier invasions as were Morrowind and Cyrodiil.

The Trailer is distinct about a deep personal enemy and doesnt even mention the rest of Tamriel, so this has to be within the region, if not simply culminating there and then spreading.

Akatosh's return sounds much more plausible then an Akavir invasion, the missing amulet in the trailer, the emphasis of Fire, Nords etc etc, points more to a more invovled enemy than some 4,000 mile away culmination of races who aren't exactly allied, and were even though Akavir means Dragon land, as far as we know, no more exists.

I think it has to have something to do with Akavir, considering the symbol of Akavir is in the middle of the loading screen.

I think it has to have something to do with the Empire, considering the symbol of the Empire is in the middle of the loading screen.

What's that? They share the same symbol? Well what do you know. We haven't been over that 500 times!

By that logic, Morrowind surely had a lot to do with Akavir, considering the symbol of Akavir is in the middle of the game's title screen.

Even though I don't know much about The Elder Scrolls Lore, I think that this invasion is Akavir related. The book called "Mysterious Akavir" that appears in Oblivion mentions this:

Ka Po' Tun is the "Tiger-Dragon's Empire". The cat-folk here are ruled by the divine Tosh Raka, the Tiger-Dragon. They are now a very great empire, stronger than Tsaesci (though not at sea). After the Serpent-Folk ate all the Men, they tried to eat all the Dragons. They managed to enslave the Red Dragons, but the black ones had fled to (then) Po Tun. A great war was raged, which left both the cats and the snakes weak, and the Dragons all dead. Since that time the cat-folk have tried to become the Dragons. Tosh Raka is the first to succeed. He is the largest Dragon in the world, orange and black, and he has very many new ideas. "First," Tosh Raka says, "is that we kill all the vampire snakes." Then the Tiger-Dragon Emperor wants to invade Tamriel.

What interests me is the cat-folk trying to become dragons and that Tosh Raka succeeded in becoming a dragon. Then his intentions of killing the vampire snakes and then the Tiger-Dragon Emperor wanting to invade Tamriel. If Skyrim does take place 200 years after Oblivion, I believe that it is possible for the Tiger-Dragon Emperor to create a huge army of dragons to invade Tamriel. But then again, I would be wondering why the dragons would be just invading Skyrim, or maybe the dragons thought Skyrim was an easier place to start to invade considering the civil war in Skyrim.

Please correct me if any of the information or my opinions are not accurate.

well, if it takes place after the infernal city, there won't be much left in morrowind to conquer
they could go straight through the province into skyrim easily
especially if they have dragon mounts

I don't think Skyrim is being invaded, I think there is going to be an uprising of what's already there.
