Who killed Morrowind?

Which Daedra was it that sent the rock hurling toward Vvardenfell which eventually caused the Red Year after the Tribunal's power was diminished?

Is it possible that the Nerevarine ironically destroyed Vvardenfell by taking away the source of power of the Tribunal?

I don't know much about Morrowind's destruction. But to answer your second question.

He or she had no choice but to take away their source of power, with Dagoth Ur's rising threat.

Sheo cast the rock, Vehk held it up possibly with every intention of letting it fall if the Dunmer stop loving him, the Nerevarine destroyed the thing that's been giving Vehk the power to keep it from falling.

Take your pick.

It was actually Hist all along.

Oooh, new unsubstantiated theory: the Hist were responsible for cursing Jyggalag and turning him into Sheogorath.

Vivec was actually a Hist. Hence all the people who licked him and got turned into monsters.

Under that logic the Hist are not awesome enough to be the Hist.
